“Awesome vacation”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2014

Our group, anywhere from two to twelve couples, have stayed with Three Rivers for the last four or five years. The cabins are always clean, kitchen is furnished with dishes & utensils, beds are comfortable. Everyone, from property management to cleaning people are extremely helpful and friendly. They enforce a "quiet time" in the evenings so you have no trouble sleeping after a long day on the river or in the mountains. Great place to stay; we will be going back!

“Fishing Vacation”

Small but very comfortable and very clean. Great parking facility. Very quiet.Right on 3 rivers!

“Three Rivers Resort is our new vacation secret getaway.”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

Three Rivers was a wonderful experience and not to mention affordable. Its a great hub for fishing, rafting trips, sightseeing, Crested Butte. The cabin was spotless and well furnished. The kitchen had everything for cooking those rainbow trout we caught at "Roaring Judy hatchery". We are already planning our next trip there. We also enjoyed the upper Taylor river rafting trip. We thoroughly enjoyed Three Rivers Resort.

“Wonderful Getaway - Friendly People”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2013

We were able to check into our cabin a few minutes early, cleaning people were still there and a manager came by to fix a problem reported by the previous occupants. The people at Three Rivers are very friendly and go out of their way to help. The cabin was very clean, exactly as described on the website. This is the fourth or fifth time we've stayed with Three Rivers and will do so again. Sitting on the porch at night listening to the river and watching the stars in that beautiful Colorado sky are worth the trip... The restaurant at the bar has excellent food with large servings, easily enough to share.

“Clean, cool and quiet!”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2013

The rental cabin was the perfect size and style for two people. The upstairs loft would be great for extra people, for sleeping or napping only since it is very low ceiling. The kitchen was adequately furnished and the large covered deck was great for outdoor meals and conversations. The area around the cabins is well kept and the river is handy for fishing. The location is great for touring and other activities around Gunnison, Created Butte and Taylor Reservoir. Excellent for fly-fishing all three rivers, although current construction (road closed) has the lower part of Taylor River inaccessible by car.

“Wonderful”

The cabin was clean and the mountain stream was so relaxing. The staff was great when things were needed to be attended to in the cabin

“Disappointing”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2011

We were very disappointed as we thought we were getting a cabin on one of the "Three Rivers" which is the name of the place. It is called three rivers and was described as a cabin on the river. It was a tacky park model, not on any river, but on a gravelly plateau carved out of a rocky hill. There was no view, except of other park models, and the entry to the cabin area was somewhat "littered" with RVs, trucks, motorcycles, etc. There were very few trees, only a few small ones planted between park models. There were also some much older pre-fab cabins which were tacky in the same area. The coffee pot was broken, though they did bring a new one. Also there were no 4 cup coffee packss you usually find in lodgings with coffee pots. I reported a broken porch light to management, which they never fixed. It was very dark at night so it was difficult negotiating the steps in the dark. The price was prohibitive for two people and they even charged $10 extra per hight for our little 5 pound dog. There was no shampoo in the bathroom, and the upstairs loft was only crawl room about 3 feet tall. The "restaurant" served only barbecue, and we had to purchase our own ice instead of it being free in an ice machine. For over $140 per night, it was too expensive for the lack of any amenities at all. It had a nice porch with a picnit table and benches. It would have been hice to have had a couple of rocking chairs, but alas, like all th other "amenities" there were none.

Response from the manager We take all customer feedback seriously and I would like to respond on a number of the points brought up here. My Reservations Manager, Mark Stakemiller, remembers taking your reservation as well as checking you in. He remembers telling you that we were full that weekend and had limited cabin selections, only "park model" chalets left. While we have plenty of cabins on the river and plenty of non-park model cabins, there were none available at the time he spoke to you and explained that. Additionally, our website clearly shows where these cabins are located and what they are. We have described them in detail including the small low ceiling loft. Some people love these and some don't. From what I understand Mark gave you a chance to check out the lodging unit before you committed to stay at check-in. You chose to stay. These are new units (within 5 yrs) and have very nice amenities for a park model. Other CO resorts charge $200+ for the same units. A local hotel chain charged $180 for a standard room (no kitchen, grill, deck, etc.) this same weekend. We feel that our prices are fair and in line with the market and we check them often. "Housekeeping cabins" are much different than hotels. We do not offer coffee, shampoo, free ice, etc. as hotels do. With cabins, you are expected to bring certain food/toiletry items with you and that also is pretty standard for cabin resorts across the board. Additionally, you had a full refrigerator/freezer to make ice. I am sorry that we were not able to fix the porch light and while there is patio furniture supplied, we will consider additional chairs. Regarding the restaurant, it is a Smokehouse and BBQ is the feature but apparently you missed the other tasty items offered. There are plenty of other restaurants available within 10 minutes and we would have been happy to recommend another. We have received nothing but rave restaurant reviews all summer and yes, if you don't like BBQ, a smokehouse is probably not the place for you to dine. Overall, it sounds like we couldn't have done anything to please you and ultimately we don't pretend to be the right place for everybody but we do give you as much information as possible upfront about what the accommodations will be. Everyone has a different opinion of what a "mountain cabin" should be.

“Very Pleasant”

Very Pleasant- Will stay there again. Kids fishing pond should have been better patrolled. We saw several adults fishing.

“Great, except for Dog Urine that was in the loft of our cabin”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2011

Dog urine found in upstairs loft - 3 Rivers folks gracious and gave us new sheets/pillow cases (staff mot on hand to change); would have felt better if adjustment made on bill - though there was a missing key they did not charge for; however, not sure who picked up. Minimally expectations are a clean cabin. Booked for next year - also would suggest having people sign for additional keys to reduce confusion of who did or did not receive additional keys. “Absolutely Great Week!”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2011

Eleven of us spent six days at Three Rivers Lodge in almont and it was great; Coming "home" to our cabins after a very full day on the area trails was a pleasure. The cabins are furnished with everything you need and the bar-b-que grills make cooking out very easy. The Resort is located in a beautiful spot & the sound of the river makes sleeping easy. Everything is like new, very clean & the Three Rivers folks are quick to help, whether replacing a coffee pot or new fishing license. We will all be back next year and some of us in the fall.
