Description

Light Cahill (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)

Cabins 57-67 are identical styles. These deluxe tiny home “mountain chalets” on the Taylor River offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect units for families. The best feature is that you are literally steps away from the river. The unit has a private bedroom downstairs and a low ceiling (4 feet high) sleeping loft upstairs with mattresses on the floor. Kids love to have their own space to crawl around up here. If anyone is very big or tall, these may not be the best cabin choice.

*Note of caution for small children: the steps going up to the loft are steep and narrow and could present a falling hazard. The railing in the upper sleeping loft is high but a small child could potentially climb over, presenting a dangerous falling hazard. If you have small children, a gate for the loft stairwell is recommended.

Cabin Details:

• Approximately 400 square feet

• Each bedroom has a Queen size bed

• Loft has 2 double mattresses on the floor

• Full size sofa in living room (not a hide-a-bed)

• All bedding and towels provided

• Satellite T.V.

• Full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, utensils

• Stove/Oven, Microwave, Refrigerator, Toaster or Toaster Oven

• Coffee Maker with filters (guest provides coffee, condiments)

• Bathroom with shower

• Shared hot tub (just for cabins 57-67)

• Parking is very tight in these cabins and is limited to 2 vehicles per unit or a vehicle and small trailer (not longer than a full size pick-up truck) unhitched and parked side by side with the vehicle. Additional vehicles and longer trailers may require parking separate from the cabin and fees may apply.

All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time.

Nightly rate is based on 4 people. There is an additional fee of $10/person/night for extra persons (ages 7 and over). Maximum occupancy is 6.

Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time. For exact rates, enter your trip dates in the availability search.

**If online search results produce a limited listing of available units for your dates, please call us as availability can change quickly. For one night only or arrival within the next 2 days, you must contact the office directly.**

Response from the manager I'm sorry that you felt you had a bad experience here. To set the record straight we do not charge for extra towels - linens are always included in the price for the number of people you've paid for. If you have visited our resort often, then you will know that we have a nightly rate in each cabin based on a certain number of people. Any additional people beyond that base number are charged at $10/person/night. This is actually a very standard practice in the lodging industry and our extra person fee is low compared to many hotels and vacation rentals. In most hotels, a room fee is based on 2 people and additionals pay extra beyond that number. The extra fee does help to cover the additional cost of towels, linens, wear and tear on the lodging unit. We have this policy clearly stated on our web site for each cabin page. I'm sorry that you felt you received a "lecture." That is never the tone we seek to convey. Our reservations staff is trained to apply the policies that we have in place and those should be conveyed in a friendly way. We will use this feedback as a training tool to continue to improve our service. Thanks, Jen Stevens Resort Manager

“cabin review”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2012

nice location, but very over priced, especially because the "cabin" we rented was actually a trailor, very small! I loved that it was on the river, but again, way overpriced!

Response from the manager Thank you for your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed staying on the river. We do price checking quite frequently and what we have found is that we are actually very competitive, if not on the lower end of pricing for similar lodging types in our area and other Colorado resort towns. There are no other resorts in our area like ours so we price our "park model" cabins similar to other resorts in Colorado that have those. Most resorts price their park model cabins at $200+/night in peak season and in a prime location. We are below that. If you prefer a more traditional "stick built" cabin, we definitely have those too. I would invite you next time to consider all 17 different styles of lodging that we offer. We have everything from rustic studios to upscale on and off the river. I'm sure one of our cabin types would easily fit your budget. Thank you again for your remarks. We will continue to price check and stay competitive each year.
