Yet, with a glorious window to the Rocky Mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park and breathtaking views of the Continental Divide from every room, the Stevenson vacation rental home embodies it. Stevenson is one amongst the remarkable collection of mountain homes in prestigious Windcliff Estates in Estes Park, Colorado. This getaway comfortably houses up to 8 guests in its 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom living space. Nestled in a secluded setting — with local deer and elk visiting frequently — it's a perfect base of operations from which to experience the peace and tranquility you'll find only here. Staying at Stevenson on your Estes Park vacation is a comfortable and luxurious experience in a home full of personality and charm.


Walking into the home you'll find heritage hard rock maple, solid pine, and custom log furnishings enveloping you in a cozy cabin feeling. The living room is wondrously bright as its picture windows invite the mountains inside in all their glory. Sit awhile. Chat. Plan your excursions into the National Park. Set a fire in the natural stone fireplace. Read, enjoy some Blu-Ray, play a game. Or — settle down on the west deck — where the view is something you'll remember for a lifetime. This deck extends the entire width of the western façade of the home, with great teak rocking chairs swaying gently in the mountain breeze. A total of two sitting areas lives amongst the decks.


The well-stocked kitchen is primed with every essential implement and amenity necessary to prepare a snack or a sumptuous feast. The dining area is “European Café” in style with a solid oak table flanked by custom baguette seating, expandable to host 10 guests. Set the table with fine Gibson china and finish the scene with tall red wine goblets embracing a pour of Colorado's finest. Outdoor dining is also available (and highly desirable) on the spacious deck, which is fully equipped with a gas grill and a 7 piece dining set.


A king master suite with a private sitting area — drenched in mountain views and deck access — rounds out the top floor. Downstairs you will find additional living space in the elegant queen bedroom suite and the cheerful triple twin bedroom, perfect for younger guests. The family room (again, featuring fantastic views!) sports a large-screen TV and games for the more digital variety of entertainment, also featuring daybed seating with trundles. The home is stocked with an abundant supply of movies, toys, and books to enjoy as you wind down from your days of adventure.


Just wait until you lay eyes on the sprawling hot tub patio outside. In every season, this hot tub is a welcome respite after a day of hiking or horseback riding in the National Park. In the colder days of winter, it becomes a sanctuary; the stars shine overhead with an intensity unknown elsewhere and gentle snowfall tickles your nose, as you relax and recharge.

Response from the manager The Stevenson is indeed one of our legacy family cabins as described and depicted in both the description and photographs. Reading other reviews, you'll find the vast majority of renters rating it very highly given its amazing views and Ethen Allen furnishings and traditional sensibilities. Yes, some of the other properties we manage at Windcliff are newer and more modern in decor. Upon visiting some of those other homes, I see now the guest perhaps experienced some renter's remorse. Mea culpa. As the management team responsible, we will recommit to encouraging all guests spend a little more time consulting with Windcliff staff, asking about our homes and studying the website photos and descriptions closely before making their final reservation choice(s). No home is misrepresented at Guests find a wide range of homes and prices but all our homes are mechanically sound and meet our personal (my staff inspects every home - no 3rd parties are involved) and stringent inspection criteria prior to each and every guest check-in. We regret this home wasn't where this guest would have preferred to stay. We should have vetted this better during booking and knowing the importance of updated design, perhaps guided the guest to a higher priced property at Windcliff that better matched her preferences. Our apologies. We will strive to continue to improve in this important "matchmaking" role to ensure each guest stays in the best possible home given their budget, availability and preferences.
