“The perfect place to stay!”
Beautiful scenery and lots of space to relax in this wonderful place in Pagosa. The house had everything you could ask for an was very clean and neat with lots of brochures of places to visit.
“Peaceful, charming A-Frame”
Wish our stay was longer. Larry and Sue were very nice and welcoming people to rent from. Everything we needed was available . Will definitely come back
“Great location, great cabin”
The cabin was awesome, the views were spectacular. Close to Pagosa Springs, but in the country. Our host was easy to work with. We had a group of 8 and we all fit well and had a grand time. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks Larry
“6 weeks in a colorado sweetspot”
We just finished 6 great weeks at the A. If we had it our way we would live here every summer. We pretty much just moved in and enjoyed the climate that this area and this very site on the San Juan river has. The A has the most wonderful outdoor covered deck that we practically lived on everyday. We watched gorgeous sunsets (and many moonrises) on the South San Juan mountains. The gas cooking, inside and out, and galley kitchen was great and compact. The toaster oven baked pizza and cookies easily. The kitchen is well equiped and modern. We slept every ngiht with the windows open on great linens and enjoyed the cool Colorado air. We hosted several gatherings at the A from couples to a group of 8 for a meal and a football game. The A has it all for simple quiet living with a great two bedroom set up and all the ammenities needed for modern quiet life in the pines. This is a great quiet location full of wildlife and just a short trip to town. We think the A is in a perfect central location to many Pagosa Springs and Rocky Mt area attractions.
We enjoyed our stay in the A-frame. We saw deer, turkeys, birds, and Abert squirrels on the property. The house is tastefully decorated. There is no full size oven - only a toaster oven. No Wi-Fi either. I can live without those things and was happy with our stay at this property.
The Pondersoa a Frame was everything I had expected. House was central to Pagosa and Wolf Creak. Host owner could not have been more hospitable. Will definitely come back.
“Comfortable & Quiet”
I can't say enough about how friendly Larry and Sue are. They made us feel very welcome and were attentive to our needs. This a-Frame is so comfortable and fun to stay in. We had great scenery along with a very home-like feeling. We will be back for sure.
I rented the a-frame for a month-long retreat, and I can't imagine a place that would have been better. The cabin is extremely comfortable, warm, spacious and cozy at the same time. Larry and Sue have thought of everything - comfortable furniture and beds, lots of towels, blankets, pillows, and personal care items, everything needed to build good fires, very well-equipped kitchen, and even a discount card for the local grocery store on the keychain! It's all tastefully decorated and easy on the eyes. I personally loved the second floor sitting area and bedroom, where you can curl up with a book and look out the tall a-frame windows to see the snow or the leaves fall outside. The deck and the recliners downstairs are also a great perch to look out the huge windows. The location is fantastic. It is completely quiet (utterly silent at night) and very private. Huge beautiful pines everywhere. The nighttime sky is totally visible, easy to see the milky way, with no street lights, etc. The overlook to the river is especially peaceful and inspiring, and has great sunset views. A group of wild turkeys rambled through a couple of times a day, and often deer. At the same time you are within easy striking distance of many of the access points to the wilderness and the national forest, and the continental divide, some of the best hiking I have done anywhere (I'm an avid hiker). Not to mention the awesome hot springs, right on the river, which is less than 10 minutes drive from the cabin. It is a nature-lover's paradise. Grocery store and stuff like that also within 10-15 minutes. Sue and Larry were ideal owners - attentive and responsive, but not at all intrusive - and really, just great people. I'm glad to have met them along the way and look forward to the next stay.
“Peace and quiet close to all the action”
We spent ages sifting through all the properties on offer close to Pagosa and finally found this one which was perfect. The house has plenty of space, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and soap provided, and is set in a quiet spot surrounded by trees and close to a cliff overlooking the San Juan river. The owners, Larry and Sue, live close by and couldn't have been more welcoming, offering a wealth of local knowledge and friendly suggestions if required. We even followed their suggestion that there was no need to lock up. We loved sitting on the deck in the morning and at dusk watching the wild life go by. We saw dear, humming birds, vultures and wild turkeys who roost in a tree near by at night. Nearby, we saw a porcupine waddle across the road! We stayed 4 nights but managed to pack in horse riding, hiking, tubing on the river, hiring a boat on Lake Navajo, relaxing in the spa and eating at the many yummy local restaurants. All of these were within easy striking distance as a long as you have a car. Pagosa itself is 10 minutes drive away. We loved every minute.
“Pagosa a-Frame Retreat”
We needed an escape from the stresses of work and parenting. This charming a-frame was just the remedy. It is nestled in ponderosa pine trees, with frequent opportunities to view wildlife. At the edge of the yard, there is a beautiful overlook of a river below. The accommodations are comfortable, it is tastefully decorated, clean and tidy, and we had everything we needed for our weekend getaway. We highly recommend this charming a-frame in the trees.
