Very Good

“In a word, Pinewood Cabin is Perfect!”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2017

My husband, my son, our puppy and I spent three days and two nights at Pinewood Cabin. We had a marvelous time. The cabin was very clean and homey. It was equipped with everything we needed. For example, I forgot to buy coffee filters, and lo and behold, there was a whole bag of filters in the cupboard. I'm a writer, and I wrote an essay about my stay at this cabin. The piece is called "The Importance of Finding Your Happy Place." Pinewood Cabin is my happy place. The piece is going to be published on a psychology website in two weeks. What can I say? Pinewood Cabin is an inspirational location. Go there, and be relaxed, amazed and happy!

Response from the owner Wow! Thank you for this wonderful review. You've put us in a happy place too. Please share a link to your essay when it is ready. So glad the wgole family, including the furry member, enjoyed the stay.

“New favorite place”

Reviewed 30 Jun 2016

We have spent several years, renting cabins at different locations trying to find a place that we want to go back to every year. We finally found the place. We had a wonderful & relaxing visit. The Cabin was very comfortable, clean & spacious and John was very accommodating. We will be making an annual return to Marsh Hollow.

“Very Comfortable”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2015

We recently stayed at Pinewood Cabin to celebrate our 48th anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners dog. There were some daffodils blooming out front. Upon entering the cabin, we found a nice note to my husband and myself along with two engraved wine glasses. What a pleasant and thoughtful surprise! Since it is so early, the trees were without foliage, but the area must be beautiful when they are covered in leaves. We took a short walk around the huge area out front and walked down to the bridge over to a path on the other side. We really enjoyed watching the birds as they lined up at the feeder. Although the weather didn't co-operate, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this comfy cottage. The kitchen has everything you need. The living room couch is great and has two rocking chairs. The bed was comfortable, bathroom clean. Can't ask for any more for a day or more away from home.

“Nice, quiet, clean little cabin.”

The experience was wonderful. The cabin was clean. We were given our privacy. The constant swirl of hummingbirds off the deck of the cabin was very entertaining. We sat on the deck in the evening and listened to nature.Thats something people do enough of. We had never been to Hocking Hills before. The place is amazing! Beautiful and awe inspiring.

Response from the owner We are going to have to start paying those hummingbirds - everyone loves them! Thanks for the kind words, David.

What a lovely warm inviting atmosphere at Marsh Hollow. The amenities were exceptional as was the cleanliness and comfort the cabin provided. We had a wonderful visit and will definitely return in the fall.

“Restful weekend retreat”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2014

What a wonderful cabin in the Hocking Hills! Quiet with a beautiful setting, this one bedroom has every amenity. The deck provides a great place to have a quiet meal or sit and relax with a glass of wine. A soak in the hot tub after long hikes was a necessity. The cabin is very clean and just the right size for 2 people. We cooked salmon, potatoes, and asparagus on the Weber grill...yum! And the location was convenient for all Hocking Hills attractions. I would say the only negative was the early 10:30am checkout time. Other than that...great place! And we loved that we could bring our dog:)

Response from the owner Thanks for the great review! Sorry about the check-out time, but we need time to provide that clean, tidy cabin. That said, it never hurts to ask if you can have a later check-out, or earlier check-in. We do our best to accommodate requests - just can't guarantee we can.

“Great Stay”

“Lovely private cabin with extras!”

Reviewed 10 Apr 2014

The owners of this cabin take pride in providing visitors with an extra special experience. The cabin sits off the road separated by trees and a small woods. The property includes a large field for family games or gatherings. The owners even provide, horse shoes, cornhole and frisbees in the free standing garage on the property. Behind the cabins is a beautiful creek and a trail. The property owners encourage wild life by feeding birds and setting corn piles in the field behind the cabin. The different varities of birds were so beautiful! Inside the cabin, guests will be greeted to a personalized note with instructions and information. When calling the owners to check in, they are so kind in asking if there is anything you need and telling you where to find the extra propane tank, just in case, as well as the firewood. The cabin is very clean and maintained well. The decor is tasteful. The kutchen fully stocked with dishes, coffee maker, toaster and microwave. I was impressed with the quality of towels in the bathroom, they were plush and soft. The owners went above and beyond by provide two high quality bathrobes. That was so nice after relaxing in the clean hot tub. Inside you will also find a good assortment of Dvd' and adult selections as well as many books. They provide tourist information in a clean unobtrusive way as well as a local map in the Hocking Hills magazine. My kids enjoyed going next door to feed the horses and goats carrots. Its so nice to look out of your back window and see a field with horses! I wouod definitely stay at this cabin again.

“We will return!”

We had a lovely time. Of all the cabins we have stayed in Hocking Hills over the years, this cabin offered the most open green space on the property, complete with a creek and trail. Perfect for those bringing their dog. The deck wrapped around the back side of the house, definitely the largest we've had, and the outdoor speakers were a nice touch. Lots of warm touches. Thanks, Mary and Dave, for sharing your cabin.
