The Nashua Lake House offers a fully furnished three bedroom home on Cedar Lake in Nashua, Iowa. This unit is equipped with a king bed and two queens (each bedroom has ceiling fans), linens, dining needs, pots and pans, two 32" flat screen televisions each with a DVD player, charcoal grill, patio, large 25 x 20 covered porch with ceiling fans and lights. We offer a a great view of Cedar Lake from a large paved patio and porch areas! Off street parking on a hard surface is available. The home is equipped with central air and heat and features a jetted tub and shower combination. There is a laundry facility with washer and dryer for use by guests. The unit underwent a significant update in 2012 and is ready for your vacation and family gathering needs. The home is equipped with a keyless entry system which will be programmed to the four digit code that you will receive after booking. Wireless internet is available throughout the house.

Enjoy your morning coffee or happy hour on the bank while watching the lake come to life or by watching boaters and jet skiiers out on the water. The Nashua Lake House can be rented by the day, week or month. Area attractions include Little Brown Church (5 miles), fairgrounds (1 mile) river rafting (10 miles/Charles City), Davis motorcycle rally (20 miles/New Hampton) and more. Chuckwagon races and other events are frequently held at the fairgrounds located within a mile of the house.

The property includes a small cement dock which can be accessed by descending 42 steps from the top of the river bank. The steps are rather steep but a sturdy hand railing is available--with 42 steep steps, it doesn't hurt to have qualities similar to a mountain goat! (Having said that, our kids carry kayaks up and down the steps but we want to help potential guests be aware that a high, spectacular view of the water also equates to a long journey down to the dock and the water and a steep bank with a sharp drop off.)

Cedar Lake is a popular fishing location on the Cedar River, both from a boat or from popular spots like immediately below the dam. Additionally, guests have caught some nice sized catfish from the dock located on the property. There are two public areas located within a few blocks where a boat can be put in. A nice public park and a small public beach are also within a few blocks.

A large 45 x 30 foot block patio was added near the edge of the bank in 2014. This is great place to sit and relax. A covered porch (25 x20) was added in 2015, A firepit is located on the patio as is ample seating and two dining tables.. The view of the water is one of the best on the lake. The patio and porch areas sit high above the water and the bank. Because of the number of steps and the high bank, please employ common sense when dealing with alcohol and small children. There are steps to access the dock and the water, 42 in number.

Nashua is a small town in northeast Iowa that provides the pleasures of small town living, including an ice cream shop located within walking distance that makes great ice cream treats, burgers and broasted chicken.

Nashua Lake House is a great place for a short term get away. It is also a good solution when your house is overflowing with guests for weddings, funerals, family gatherings around the holidays, hunting and fishing trips, extended stays when family members are in a nursing home or hospital, etc. It has also been used to host "girl get away weekends", bridal showers, quilting groups, and birthday parties. Longer term rentals have been utilized for traveling short term professionals such as nurses or while guests' primary homes were going through renovations. Our guests have told us that the house is homey and comfortable. The Lake House allows you to keep your guests close but not underfoot.

House rules
