“Excellent Accommodations”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2016

First time we had stayed at a place that was not a chain. Were delightfully surprised how nice this ranch house was; beautifully decorated and everything we needed. Nice porch off kitchen to enjoy the quiet. Conveniently located close to Durango and other points of interest. Owners were very friendly and knowledgeable of area. Would definitely stay there again. Excellent value for the price. Thanks Kristi and Scotty

Response from the owner Thank you so much for staying with us and taking the time to leave a review. Please come back . Kristie

“A Pleasure”

Reviewed 3 Jul 2014

Minutes away from Durango, this spacious abode was a countryside delight. The house was very comfortably appointed, and with owner renovations, no needs or desires were unmet. And had something unexpected happen (nothing did), this couple would have found an answer in a down home minute. They live on the ranch property, but were seldom seen except for an occasional interlude when we sought information about local sights or places to eat in town. We would happily stay there again.

“Nice and quiet”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2014

The cottage is furnished with every thing you could possibly need. That is except food of course. There is lots of shops in Durango, about ,20 mins. away. The cottage is very clean and well maintained. The Hinds were very helpfull, they told us about different things of interest to see. There are all kinds of birds and other wild life around. The horses were also very friendly. We had a great vacation and would go back.

“Host's with the most heart you ever hope to experience.”

Arriving on the "Hinds Horses Ranch" is like entering a vortex of a time from the past. You will encounter hosts that have taken the time and thoughtfulness to attend to your every need. They truly care about your experience and their efforts are obvious in every detail. Kristie and Scotty are well-traveled themselves and not only have a worldly ambiance but they understand what other travelers need and want. They are a wealth of information and more than willing to share if you ask or give you space and quietude if you wish. Their sensitivity and wholehearted intention for you to enjoy your stay is palpable. I look forward to my next visit with anticipation!

“An adventure in Quietness!”

Reviewed 8 May 2014

An adventure in Quietness! If quiet and rural is what you desire, read on! My trip started from Seattle, driving to Santa Fe for a conference. After the four day session, I needed to rest and relax before heading back. Having read an article about a ranch outside Durango, Colorado, I called to make a reservation. The owner, Kristie, answered the phone, and was the most congenial person I have spoken with in a long time! She explained it was very quiet there, and quite rural. Just what I needed to R&R.; Arriving after a 5-hour drive, I was pleasantly surprised. A beautiful iron gate on the lower driveway opened to a long, winding road to the top of the hill. What met my eye was the greatest view in the world. A quaint cottage beautifully set to enjoy the incredible scenes of mountains filled with snow, sunshine in the day, and magnificent bright stars at night. This one bedroom cottage was exactly as described. All the accoutrements of a harvest kitchen, a living room filled with lovely, relaxing furnishings, wood fireplace, and a large TV. A roomy bathroom with a glass door bathtub, and a patio out the kitchen door with a wonderful BBQ...what more could I ask for? This is truly a magical cottage, perfect for a single person, or Honeymooners, or for folks celebrating their anniversary. Don't delay in making a reservation---as soon as word gets out, people will clamber to stay in this wonderful quaint cottage. No more hotels for me! Dr. Patricia arthur Seattle, Wa

“Fantastic Vacation Rental”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2014

This beautiful cottage was the perfect place to stay for our recent trip to Durango. It is exquisitely outfitted with everything you'd want in a vacation rental. We felt right at home. Pride of ownership is evident throughout the entire property. Owners Kristie and Scott were great hosts. As long time Durango residents, they gave us good ideas for day trips and local places to check out. We very much enjoyed our visit here and are making plans to return later this summer.
