Atelier 1 is the largest of our Atelier apartments. in the Chianti Classico
With 2 tastefully colored double bedrooms and 2 marble bathrooms.
The large Atelier of the famous Dutch painter Karel Appel (member of COBRA group) who owned the estate Villa Licia and worked here many years during the summer months, was transformed into 3 comfortable Atelier apartments
The renovation was done according to the rules and under supervision of the "Belle Arte" using the best and original Tuscan materials.
Each apartment is well furnished with fine and comfortable furniture and has a traditional Tuscan walnut kitchen which is very complete. All floors are terracotta of which many are the antique originals. Wooden beamed ceilings.
In the living room you find a sofabed for 2 persons.
All bedrooms are very light and are airconditioned. The large glass doors have mosquito screens.
Forged iron beds of 200x200 cm and we have the best quality mattresses for a good night's rest.
Atelier 1 is situated next to the historic chapel (1647) and has a wonderful pergola terrace, covered with wysteria. Perfect shaded for dining "all' aperto" . Wide views from the terrace and all windows over the Tuscan countryside.
In the large garden is the swimmingpool (7x12 m) including a children's section of 50 cm deep. Children's playground.
You share the pool with only the guests of the 3 Ateliers. Large terrace with ample loungers and parasols.
Free WIFI, extensive DVD library, table tennis.
Cleaning 2x per week, linen and towels (both changed 2x per week) are included.
Babybed with linen and high chair available on request, no extra charge.
Change over day is Saturdays, minimum stay is 1 week.
Smoking is not allowed in our apartments but we provide ashtrays for smoking on your terrace.
Atelier is part of a unique large historic estate (10 ha) with the elegant renaissance Villa Licia, various original classical gardens with fountains and sculptures, the chapel etc. Please view here the aerial photo of Villa Licia..
We offer 2 freestanding Villas with their private gardens (Casa delle Rose and Villetta) and 7 deluxe apartments (4 in Marzocco and 3 in Ateliers) for guests. The estate is surrounded by beautiful hills with olive groves and lush Chianti vineyards.
We are only 30 minutes from Florence Centro.......and its airport
and you drive in 50 minutes to Siena, 60 minutes to Lucca and 90 minutes to Pisa...(and its airport).

“Breathtaking views, beautiful apartment, wonderful staff! WE HATED TO LEAVE!”

“What a beautiful place to spend our holiday”
Our apartment was situated on a large estate Villa Licia with beautiful classic gardens. We really enjoyed the spacious house, everything was taken well care of with perfect furniture and 100% cleanliness. Was near Florence and Siena so we had all chance to see the treasures. We come back for sure
