Eveley Cottage is situated in a beautiful, picturesque, rural setting in the small village of Hackness. The cottage offers luxury accomadation for five people in two double bedrooms, one with en-suite, and one single bedroom on a galleried mezzanine floor. There is a beautiful fitted kitchen with granite worksurfaces, dinning area and lounge with log burner. Outside the cottage is a small private garden with stunning views. There is parking or one car. Everley Cottage is ideal for a family looking to explore this beautiful part of North Yorkshire, enjoying the stunning coast line and the North Yorkshire Moors

“Amazing stay”

Had the most amazing stay here with my partner and our friends the views are absolutely amazing and I couldn’t believe how close to Scarborough town we really were. We will definitely be back :)

Response from the owner Thank you for taking time to write a review but we are somewhat surprised and disappointed by your comments. There do seem to be a number of inaccuracies in your account which I feel need addressing. You write that you were disappointed that no one was at the cottage to greet you. What you fail to say is that you arrived two hours early! The cottage is available to guests from 3pm onwards. This is clear in the documentation you received. My daughter, who is 22 years old not a child as you state, arrived early at 2:30pm to meet at the designated time. Before you booked you were made aware of the building works. You totally exaggerate the extent of the work involve, please read other reviews. We categorically deny saying if you don't like it go home. We pride ourselves on our customer care and service, please read other reviews. If you were unhappy with the cleanliness of the cottage I wonder why you never raised it as an issue whilst sat drinking the wine we left you, in the garden chatting to us for half an hour? If you were so unhappy I wonder why you didn?t raise any issues whilst talking to us whilst your daughter spent the evening with our young son? If you were so unhappy I wonder why you didn't raise any issues when you daughter joined our family for a garden party on the Friday evening, your last day, sharing our food and enjoying the bouncy castle? Finally I wonder why your review is so at odds with all the other reviews we have received.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If David (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
