Benmore is a modern and comfortable cottage located overlooking the delightful village of Lairg located in the Northern Highlands of Scotland. Equipped and furnished to a high standard, the cottage is regularly upgraded to provide a comfortable and convenient base from which to explore the far North.
Stunning views extend over Loch Shin and beyond, towards Ben More Assynt.
The cottage is available from Spring through to Autumn, providing a perfect holiday destination for those interested in outdoor activities including walking, climbing, cycling and mountain biking, fishing, nature watching or for those simply wishing to relax with stunning loch and forest views.

“Comfortable, cosy cottage”
We really enjoyed our stay at Benmore Cottage. It was spotlessly clean,cosy & had everything that we could have asked for. We would particularly like to thank Judith for making our stay possible.We had a planned trip cancelled at the last moment, by a well known travel company, & Judith came to our rescue. She re scheduled a family booking so that we could have that week instead. It was beyond the call of duty & we can't say how much we appreciated it. We hope to return again on day.

“Excellent cottage.”
My wife and I stayed for 1 week at Benmore cottage at the beginning of September.On arrival we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. The cottage is set in an enviable position overlooking Benmore hill Loch Shinn and Lairg all from the dining table. We travelled to the Isle of Skye The north coast, Dornoch, Inverness etc. all quite easily. We even seen a golden eagle, not a buzzard although we saw plenty of them as well. The golden eagle was spotted near Altnaharra. We enjoyed the holiday and the cottage so much we have already booked it for 2 weeks next summer. I would have no hesitation recommending this cottage for anyone wanting to stay in this area. We are an elderly couple and quite fussy and we have no complaints.

The blackout blinds were our very first improvement to the cottage, and the new mattresses our most recent! It's good to know you found them comfortable. We do acknowledge that the parking space is fairly tight as we are restricted by the adjacent forest, but we are able to park our current estate car, as we could our previous 4x4. We have had more practice! Most of our guests appreciate the ability to 'get away from it all' in Sutherland, many of whom are of the older generation, and several of our most regular guests are active octogenarians! Once again, thank you for your feedback, we do genuinely appreciate your review.
