“The Pilot House cottage is very cold in February.”
I made the mistake of having my mom and her husband stay here in February awhile back. They were so cold inside, and Mom ended up with some kind of rash on her stomach. My hopes for a pleasant stay for them never happened. It didn't cheap either. Live and learn.
Response from the owner I am stunned to hear of this nearly eight years later. I wish something was expressed at the time by the couple who actually stayed, as we did not hear a peep from them. As far back as 2006 we had high end Hudson Bay wool blankets and have years since switched to down. The cottage is supplied with two sources of heat and a real fireplace, all settings are determined by the guest. We do not serve food so I can only imagine the source. Our rates are printed online and again prior to securing via deposit. Not complaints I have ever heard.
“Best place in Port Townsend”
We stayed here on a family vacation at the beginning of September and it was amazing!! The place is so cute and perfect for a get away in PT. The location is phenomenal; the stores and restaurants are all within walking distance, and it's beautiful to be able to walk out the front door and have all the boats there. Jana was great host. She made us feel very welcome and ensured that we all had a lovely time staying there!!
Response from the owner Dear Chelsea & Nick, Thanks so very much for spiking my listing with this shining review. I so appreciate your lively content and enthusiasm in person. You truly were fun to meet and a pleasure to see the way you immensed yourselves in our town and the Pilots setting! Jana
“Location, Location, Location”
We wanted an affordable and comfortable space with a homey feel. Pilots Cottage fit the bill. The location just off the water was so pretty in the morning. Conveniently located so we could easily get to every place we needed to in and around Port Townsend. Lots of quaint character that added to the charm. Our trip was truly enjoyable and we'd readily stay there again.
“Magical getaway just a short walk from downtown”
The Pilots Cottage has become my families favorite destination location. Each summer for the past few years we rent out the cabin for a few days. This year we rented it out for Christmas and it was simply perfect. Jana has always gone above and beyond in making us feel at home and welcome. Waking up in the morning to a small harbor of sailboats and falling asleep to the crackling fireplace its no wonder our family comes back to the Pilots Cottage year after year.
“A great relaxing experience”
We've stayed at the Pilots Cottage three times and have a reservation for Christmas. The Cottage is an extremely relaxing way to truly experience Port Townsend. It is walking distance to most of the town's amenities which is a huge plus. It is very clean and well maintained, decorated to not only make the guests feel at home but taking them back 70 or 80 years. Coffee on the front porch while watching the sunrise across the harbor is worth the trip alone. We highly recommend it.
“Quiet and private and relaxing!”
We've always enjoyed our stays here and always look forward to returning. If you want a simple, comfortable spot with lots of Port Townsed history and a front-row seat to boats in the marina and boat activities---as well as steps to sand and water---you can't beat the secluded front porch! The cottage is cozy and warm in winter storms, too. It really is the authenic definition of Port Townsend, and Jana, the owner, is accomodating and helpful.
