Very Good

“great accomodation, fab location, would recommend! had a lovely relaxed family time and definately will be returning!”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2014

The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring all of Anglesey. In my opinion its not far from the nicest part which is Newborough Beach. we spent a lot of time here. Its a lovely walk down to the beach or there is a car park close. Its just £3 to get to it through the National Trust Newborough forest. If I am correct Llandwynn Island is at the end of Newborough beach, fabulous place! then Maltreath Sands joins on, just check the map im not good with geography. Anyway its very easy to get to all parts of Anglesey and wherever you drive to you seem to end up in a beautiful place. Stick Cottage is a lovely cosy place. The combination microwave is adequate and we managed fine with it. We went into Menai to get Chinese and Indian take outs and there is a nice chippy in Newborough itself called The Codmother. There are pubs where you can eat and we went to the co op not too far away. Catherine & Paul are lovely hosts, although we didn't like to bother them too much we knew they were happy to help always if needed. I really enjoyed living here for the week and really appreciated this lovely comfortable cottage and hope to return in the future to explore Anglesey some more more! im sure you will enjoy your stay as much as we did! Response from the owner Thank you so much for your review and we're very glad that you enjoyed your stay on Anglesey in Stick Cottage. We hope to welcome you back very soon. Best wishes, Catherine

“Lovely stay”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2014

Lovely 1 week stay. Cottage is a good size for 2 people and has all the equipment necessary for a self catered holiday. Located in a nice part of Anglesey, approximately 10 minutes from the A55 bridge. Would recommend. Very good value for money also.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind review and we're glad that you enjoyed your visit. Catherine

“A spotless comfortable cottage”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2013

We had a brilliant week on anglesey, staying in this comfy well-equipped cottage with lots of information about the area to help us decide where to go each day. The cottage was a haven of peace to return to after our walks. The owners, Catherine and Paul, were very kind and helpful and the chickens kept us supplied with fresh eggs throughout our stay. The sea is never far, the walks are great- very varied too , there's an excellent restaurant down the road and a very good chippie in the next village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stick Cottage.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind words and we hope to welcome you back to Stick Cottage next year!

“Just Fab!!!”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

We stayed here with our little boy. Stick Cottage is ideal for a couple with a young child as Catherine and Paul supplied an airbed complete with toy tiger which 'sir' was very impressed with as he was with the chickens! The cottage is clean, tasteful and well equipped. It's location is ideal for exploring some beautiful beaches whilst being close enough to the mainland to allow for trips over to Snowdonia. Catherine and Paul are lovely and strike just the right balance of helpful without being obtrusive-we really did feel very welcome and would heartily recommend-in fact we already have done (!) to friends and family.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your kind review and we're so glad your son enjoyed the chickens and the tiger. We look forward to welcoming you back to Stick Cottage and to lots of friends/family referrals! Catherine

“We spent a week in this wonderful spacious homely cottage.”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2013

Excellent brochures for what to see and do on anglesey and north-west Wales. The service was very good. We were provided with fresh eggs from their hens when we arrived. We had clear directions on how to get there but the sign could of been bigger on the actual place. The amenities were very clean and tidy. The shower was in good working order and there was a heated towel rack. I liked the big space the best. I can't think of what I didn't like.

Response from the owner Dawn Thank you for providing a review and we're so glad you enjoyed your holiday in Stick Cottage. We look forward to more visitors from Australia! Catherine

“Home from home.”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2012

This is a relaxing home from home in a very handy location to see the many offerings on anglesey and around Snowdonia. The garden is lovely place to sit and you won't be alone, if the chickens have not been housed for the night, they will come and sit with you for some company. There are good places to eat nearby too. The Jade Garden in Menai Bridge is very good and does superb, fresh lobster up to September. They are delivered fresh from local catches. The Maram Grass, or a similar name, is just down the road and does superb food, don't be put off by the hut-looking appearence. The people and the food are lovely. Beaumaris is worth a visit and the Pier Head Cafe is a good people watching spot, as it the pier with all the crab fishers along it. South Stack is a beautiful place to walk along the cliffs. We had good weather there, it may be a bit wild on some days. The nearby beach is a smashing place to sit with the surrounding forest, more than worth the £3 entrance. All in all Stick Cottage and the owners is a smashing place to stay. An aside for wheelchair users. It probably wont be suitable for wheelchairs.

Response from the owner Gil, Thank you for your review of Stick Cottage. It is always useful for other visitors when you recommend so many places to see and visit. We hope your beautiful daughter is doing well and look forward to welcoming all three of you back to Stick Cottage, next year.

“Very Relaxing, Quiet and Comfortable”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2012

This was our first trip to anglesey and we're very pleased to have discovered Stick Cottage. It was clean, comfortable and well equipt for our weeks stay. Catherine and Paul are very friendly. You get a rural feel but you're not too far away from civilisation. Newborough Forest and beach is close by and well worth a look. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Response from the owner Paul Thank you for your kind review. We'll have to get you to do us a feature on cycling trips near Stick Cottage! Catherine

“Relaxing cozy cottage”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2012

Had a brilliant long weekend at Stick cottage, the only trouble being it wasn't long enough. It was an amazingly clean, peaceful, character cottage. We could hardly bear to leave it to go out for the day. Loved the chickens wandering round. We felt very safe there.

Response from the owner Edna So glad you enjoyed your stay in Stick Cottage and we do hope you will come back for a longer break. Perhaps in better weather, so that you can use your kayaks. Catherine

“Cosy, warm and pleasant”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2012

A clean, comfortable cottage with all mod cons, just right for a couple. Welcoming touches such as fresh laid eggs, a jug of milk and basic necessities on arrival. The heating was left on even though it was June, which was much appreciated, given the weather of summer 2012! We thoroughly enjoyed exploring anglesey, which has a varied landscape, beautiful beaches, some good restaurants and empty roads. The only downside of the cottage is you have to drive to reach any amenities (shops, cafes, take-aways).

Response from the owner Thank you for your glowing review. We hope to welcome you back in a sunnier summer, perhaps! Catherine

“A gem of a find”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

The service we received at Stick Cottage was friendly and efficient. Our hosts Catherine and Paul were pleasant and helpful yet mindful of our privacy. We found Stick Cottage to be homely, quiet and relaxing. Spotlessly clean and facilities most comfortable. Our Grandaughter was thrilled and suggested we all move in and live there. This is a quiet village location but close to facilities example The Sea Zoo where we highly recommend the shoreline safari accompanied by the Sea Zoo's Marine Biologist. Wellies needed. We highly recommend Stick Cottage to all but those with a depth of mobility problems .

Response from the owner Dear John and Linda Thank you for your kind review - how lovely to think that your granddaughter might have persuaded you to move in permanently! The chickens would certainly have approved of E looking after them. Best wishes Catherine
