Dear Travellers in the Yucatan and Puerto del Cuyo,
If you dont feel like spending your well deserved vacation in Highrise Hotels, timeshares or condos in Cancun or Playa del Carmen , and you are rather looking for relaxation and recreation in the real Mexico, the unspoilt Caribbean Feeling of El Cuyo may something you should consider.
Puerto del Cuyo is a small, unspoiled Beachtown filled with Cocunut palm trees near Holbox, and is today the only coastal town in the Yucatan which is dotted with palm trees. At all other beaches in the Yucatan, the palm trees were exterminated by a plague some years ago, and were sadly not reforested . Not so in Puerto del Cuyo, here you can still find the Caribbean Feeling mixed with mexican flair that used to be found in every Yucatan Beach town.

The Hacienda Antigua Villa and Lodge is a cosy hideaway in a Margaritaville style Beach and Kite Surf Village, for everybody budget oriented, that is looking to enjoy the real Mexico without many tourists.
Hidden under coconut palm trees, you may relax in your hammock, watch the birds during the day and the stars at night, take a swim in the ocean or take mile long beach walks and collect seashells that have been washed up by the ocean current over night, or simply do nothing.
The Hacienda Antigua is fully furnished and ready to be moved in at any time. The 800ft2 Villa has a Masterbedroom with a Kingsize Bed, fully equipped kitchen, terrace, bathroom (remodeled 2016) and livingroom.
The 300ft2 Suite has 2 dbl beds in one room, small kitchenette, bathroom (also remodeled 2016)with shower and its own seperate entrance.
You may rent the Villa together or separate from the Lodge, or vice versa. Service of cook and fishing or snorkel tours could be provided by the caretaker Dona Remigia.
The Villa is located near Cancun, in a quaint Mexican fishing village, just like Cancun used to be 35 Years ago. For Visitors that want to escape from the hussle and bussle , discothecs, Fast Food Restaurants and crowds of Turists...this is the place to stay. The Hacienda Antigua is just a couple of walking minutes away from the Main Square where you find several Restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, bakery, etc. The 1500 Inhabitants are dedicated fishermen with their families that welcome every visitor with a smile on their face. Dear Guests, just like every other area in the Yucatan Cancun and the Area are very safe and locals are very friendly and make you feel right at home. Service upon arrival: The Caretaker will receive you in the Villa and hand you over the keys. Please leave a 80 Usd deposit, that you will be refunded when you return them upon departure and when the house is left in the same conditions as you received it.

The two local Restaurants serve fresh and delicious seafood (lobster, octopus, grouper, snapper, barracuda, shrimp, etc.), prepared with a Mexican-Yucatecan flair. Very reasonable prices.we recommend the Iguana Factory, Owned by Juan, which is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.At the Iguana Factory, you can always arrange Tours thruout the Yucatan, Changing Money, Rent a Vw Bug, Rent Kayaks, Skites, Paddle Boat. They can also provide gyided Tours if you prefer.

Response from the manager Hi, thanks for the note..great that you liked our other beach property, sadly you did not write a review about that one at all, figures. anyway, i will make short notes to your complaints, since all were or could have been managed onsite by the caretaker: 1) NO PROPANE : we have spare tanks onsite, caretaker could have changed it IF, yes IF you had told her 2) NO DRINKING WATER - Carteaker would have brought or refilled it. 3) NO BREEZE - ...who to blame? 4) NO TV - there is, but its connected to a Sony Home Theater, you need to bring your films 5) NO WIFI - Its by USB Stick provided by Telmex, unfortunately your Laptop did not work Further we send you detailed house infos including phone number of the caretaker before arrival , and there is a copy also in the house. So you did have the contact number, and my emails but i did not hear a word of you neither during this stay.

Response from the manager Hola du Yucatan, Hacienda Antigua se trouve à 50 mètres de la plage ... pas face à la plage. quand votre père a fait le contrat, il ne voulait pas l'air conditionné, et il savait que le prix serait plus élevé si l'air conditionné est voulu. Encore une fois, l'autre maison fron plage aurait été disponible, .. mais pour un autre taux. Nous avons des règles de la Chambre en anglais, allemand, français et espagnol que nous envoyons même avant votre arrivée par e-mail, ... afin qu'il n'y aura pas de surprises. les kayaks et des vélos sont disponibles, mais moyennant un supplément, oui. son pas annoncés qu'ils sont inclus, car ils sont offerts par mon voisin Juan et votre père a fait les arrangents directement avec Juan par e-mail avant votre arrivée.
