“Nice little apartment in a great town centre location”
Les Combes is a third floor 'attic' apartment, not flash, but clean with all the required facilities with a comfortable bed and hot shower. Tiny bathroom, but it worked well for us. We stayed for a week and it became a comfortable home. At check in, Rhona gave us a very useful outline of what was good to do and see in the Sarlat area. The apartment is wonderfully located literally 20 metres from the market square with its cafes (WiFi), restaurants and street market twice a week. We enjoyed ourselves.
“mind the beams”
The first floor studio is relatively spacious with high ceilings, and adequately and furnished, in a basic Ikea-style. First row streetview. The top floor apartment has a nicer kitchen, but no view and, alas, beams at 1.75m.
Response from the owner I am sorry to hear that this lady thought our apartment merited only an average and would be grateful for her suggestions as to how in her opinion,we could improve as all my other guests have been delighted with the location, cleanliness and comfort provided. I know that this lady's husband is very tall but I think we should be precise about the height of the beams. There is one beam which separates the living area and kitchen which is 1.77m but all the others (approx. 8) in the living/bedroom area are 1.92m+
“Most Charming accommodation in Sarlat”
Just stay here! Don't procrastinate! Don't look at other places! But leave yourself at least four nights to savour the experience. If possible make one of those days a Saturday for the markets. This town is charming, this accommodation is gorgeous, the hosts are wonderful. They have thought of everything to make it enjoyable and relaxing. While in Sarlat walk and look...but don't miss the eastern side of town (from the main street.) What are you waiting for?
“The studio is comfortable, clean and perfectly located.”
We were very happy in Les Combles and it certainly met all our expectations and more. The studio is fully equipped and comfortable. It is located near the main square and we found free parking very close by. The owners were friendly and extremely helpful. They provided lots of information by email in the weeks leading up to our visit. And during our stay they were contactable and able to bring anything we required, eg a fan when the weather turned unexpectedly hot for a couple of days.
“Central and comfortable”
The apartment was really well equipped with everything that you could need in it. The welcome basket was also a really nice touch. It was comfortable enough for two people and the owner, Rhona, was really lovely. We were in the attic apartment which got a little loud at night at the weekends from the street below as the apartment was so central but other then that the stay was perfect. We did not have a car but still found Sarlet a perfect location to explore the Dordogne region from.
