Description from owner

Description

Nestling in a secluded glen with glorious views of the mountains of Assynt and Wester Ross this is the perfect setting for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Glendarroch House is a traditional Highland home built some 170 years ago and in the ownership of the same family ever since. Awarded 4Star rating by Visitscotland, it has been fully modernised to the highest standards whilst maintaining its unique and original character. It is exceptionally well equipped and the kitchen can deal with everything from a carryout to a Christmas dinner!

The house has 4 bedrooms: 2 king size doubles, 1 twin and a small child's bedroom (1.5m bed). It is let for a maximum of 6 persons. The downstairs king size double bedroom and bathroom make it ideal for the less mobile.

The house is set in 12 acres and perfectly secluded, yet close to the village of Lochinver with its full range of shops, services, and award winning restaurants. It is ideally positioned for exploring Sutherland and Wester Ross and, if you feel fit, there is nothing to stop you walking off in any direction. In the surrounding area there are superb sandy beaches, mountains to climb, places to explore and lochs to fish; or perhaps you wish to enjoy the library of 500+ books or sit on the patio and watch nature go by.

Glendarroch is ideal for couples, family groups and friends of all ages, who value privacy and luxury in an area of outstanding beauty and interest.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind remarks and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2020. Yes, Glendarroch is a haven for wildlife and the only noisy neighbours are the competing birds with the increasingly rare cuckoo a welcome spring visitor.

Response from the owner Stuart, Many thanks for your generous remarks. The North West can be beautiful in the early spring and I see you found lots of low level walks to keep you busy. Hope you can manage back to Glendarroch before too long. Colin
