Description

Birch Cottage is a luxurious and spacious one bedroom self-catering cottage in the heart of the Caringorms National Park near Aviemore. The cottage is part of Highland Holiday Cottages, a top quality family run small business offering amazing pet friendly accommodation and is #1 on TripAdvisor in the area.

The cottage is accessed through a large hallway/porch where you can store all your outdoor gear and boots. The open plan living room is cosy and offers all of the creature comforts of a home from home including leather sofa, eco friendly wood burning stove, 32” HD satellite TV, DVD, portable stereo and Internet access via free-to-access WiFi broadband. The kitchen is well equipped with hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and all of the equipment needed to self cater in comfort (e.g. blender, cafetiere, small thermos flask and knife sharpener). The bedroom is light and airy with a wooden king-size bed. The south facing french doors in the living room lead onto a private, fenced patio where there is seating and access to a large lawn.

Guests have access to a gym with strength and conditioning equipment, a 5/6 person traditional sauna, a golf practice area, a games room (with a table football table, playstation and various other games) and mountain bikes to borrow on a first come first saved basis. Guests are also free to borrow a BBQ, take ice from the ice machine, or make use of the communal laundry room for a wash or dry at a small cost.

The price includes towels and linen, and a large basket of logs for the wood burning stove, but excludes electricity which you pay by honesty box and card meter in your cottage (we make no profit from this charge).

The cottage was extensively and sympathetically renovated in late 2017 including: new Hypnos mattress, complete internal re-painting, new/improved lighting, new internal oak doors, new carpets, new curtains, new soft furnishings and pictures and a new fleet of mountain bikes.
