Tucked away in the Vale of York - The Owl Barn Holiday Cottage is the perfect place to take a holiday, a short break or spend the weekend. In the heart of rural North Yorkshire the cottage is only 8 miles / 20 minutes' drive from the iconic historical city of York.
Lovingly converted from vintage cart sheds the cottage is the ideal mix of beams and original features, combined with the very latest modern amenities. The two bedroom holiday cottage features one bedroom with a generous king size bed and a second bedroom offering the option of either a king or twin beds. The cottage also has two bathrooms, a spacious lounge, modern kitchen / dining area and a secluded paved courtyard with barbecue area and exclusive use of an outdoor hot tub.

“The perfect retreat to relax.”
Highly recommend this place for a private romantic break , Margaret and Barry cudnt do enough . Hot tub made our weekend so relaxing and everything we needed was there . We will definitely be bk for another break .

Response from the owner I am so sorry for the delayed response to your review, for some reason I didn’t get an alert so I have only just seen it. Naturally I was upset to read about your disappointment with some aspects of your stay. Quite clearly the massive summer demand and short turnarounds have taken their toll on our normally high standards of cleanliness and maintenance. I am however pleased to report that we took the cottage off sale to enable us to rectify all the issues identified during your stay and have implemented new procedures for cleaners to identify and report new issues as well as scheduling in regular maintenance breaks. The worrying drain problem remains a mystery to us.It has never happened before or since ? Finally I am also sorry you felt neglected - many guests prefer their privacy and minimal contact from us. it is tricky to get this right.
