Description

The Rigsby Suite is the larger of two main suites in the historic, boutique 1899 House Bed & Breakfast. It is a south-facing room done in shades of sage green, with gold and black area rugs on hard oak floors. Among its amenities, it also has a wet bar in a lighted alcove with a wine cooler and glassware, leaded glass night lights, a work desk with lighting, a high queen bed, and a loveseat that folds out with a twin bed (see "third man charges").

The room holds a new smart TV (historic buildings may not have external antennae or satellite dishes usually); there is also house-wide Wi-Fi, and plug-ins available on request for most cell phones. It also has a clock radio with an alarm, and an electric blanket on the pillow-topped bed. During winter, there is the option of cozy flannel sheets as well, and there are blackout drapes for those wishing to sleep later.

The bathroom holds a 7' rain bird shower and other nozzles connected to a fast-return hot water system. The shower is large enough for a friend to join (!). Another lovely feature is its heated towel rack, and there are cushy bathrobes for lounging in. We encourage guests to bring slippers or non-skid soled socks, though, as the oak floors are highly polished, as are the hall stairs down to the community areas.

Since Washington State legalized marijuana, the house has become 420 friendly, though there is NO smoking allowed anywhere inside the house. Medical and personal use is allowed in the side patio garden, and on the sweeping front porch, however; guests may bring their own supplies. It is against state law to provide alcohol or marijuana to guests.

Everyone staying at the 1899 House has a continental breakfast included, though in Rigsby there is a "third man" charge of $50/night for having three. This fee covers the extra linens and meal service. Each evening before ten p.m., guests need to text or call the Innkeeper to let her know their "window of time" that breakfast will be needed. There are no precise seating times for breakfast.

Response from the owner Wonderful to meet this family, here for their daughter's graduate school graduation. They came and went, soundlessly, with no allergies or special needs at meals or for snacks, and were bright and cordial in all interactions. Loved the Piersons, and hope to see them again!
