Description
The Plodda lodge is a 3 bedroom lodge with a living/kitchen area and a walk-in shower. The lodge is well equipped incl. tv, dvd, washing machine, microwave & fridge and there is free WiFi available. Next to the lodge is parking space for 2 cars. The lodge is also very suitable for persons with walking disabilities and is dog friendly (max. 2 dogs).
The lodge is part of "Lochletter Lodges", a small park in a rural environment, just 5 miles from Drumnadrochit and Loch Ness. There are 4 lodges and due to the spacious layout, there is enough privacy. The lodges are surrounded by hills, woodland and fields. There is a loch (Loch Meiklie) within a 5 minute walk. The park is lying in the middle of Glen Urquhart, which stretches from Loch Ness to Glen Affric.
Drumnadrochit, is a touristic village, with shops and restaurants. There is also the Urquhart Castle, a Tourist Information Centre, and the Loch Ness visitor centre. Boat trips can be made over Loch Ness. Inverness and Fort Augustus are within a 30 min. drive. Day trips to Cairngorms, Fort William, Isle of Skye are approx an 1.5 hour drive. There are a lot of walking and cycling routes at the rear of the park, which are also suitable for buggies.
Included in the rent is: bed linen, a bath towel per person, hand and tea towels, a washing-up set (liquid, sponge, dishcloth). There is a electric coin meter (takes £1, and £2 coins), for additional heating and hot water. The lighting, cooking and basic heating is included in the price.

“Ideal base for families, active people and dog lovers.”
Very neat little area, secluded and private. Cabin is nicely laid out and comfortable, very quiet at night. Bikers, walkers, and dogs have everything they could need on the doorstep... and everything else is just a short drive away. One of our party relied on a wheelchair, but the cabin was absolutely fine, the bathroom is also a shower room with fold out seat - so it may be a good option for disabled guests. Will certainly be considering a return next year.
