Escape to Eleuthera! Eleuthera offers as much adventure or as much relaxation as you wish. You will feel welcomed by the residents! They appreciate that you have chosen their island as your get-a-way. You will be treated with respect to your privacy or engaged in colourful conversation by very laid-back but not backwards locals. Sand Dollar is ideally located in the center of the island, 3 miles to Governor's Harbour and 3 miles to the International Airport. Drive north to the dock for Harbour Island in about an hour (Harbour Island is then a short water taxi ride) or all the way south to Light House Point in a little over an hour. A gated private paved drive off The Queen's Highway takes you to Sand Dollar Cottage nestled on 1 acre lot. Walk three minutes down the hill to have toes in the the pink sands of Banana Beach and swim in the gentle waves of the Atlantic. Veranda & deck on 3 sides. Swing hammocks to laze in after a day of exploring. A twelve minute walk takes you to Pasquel's Bistro offering a sea side setting for the days you do not wish to cook, live entertainment, infinity pool and WIFI. Sand Dollar is simple classy style keeping with Island life and getting away from it all. The settlement of Governor's Harbour is 5 minute drive where you will find all you need including fresh fish at the dock, sea front coffee shop, traditional Bahamian restaurants with al fresco dining or takeaway, grocery & liquor stores, banks and laundry mat.
Enjoy great eating with fresh organic produce/baking/sauces/dressings fron The Island Farm, fresh fish and lobster in season from the dock in Governor's Harbour or other towns you will discover, bread/ key lime pie/ & rum cake are but a few baked from "scratch" delights at Dale's bakery.
There are several quaint oceanside restraunts & bars. Sky Beach Club offers relaxing poolside bar and Bistro w WIFI only a 12 minute walk from The Sand Dollar. Bistro 1648 & Tippy's and Leo Rose. Car rental referal provided when you make your reservation.
Escape to Eleuthera...you will be soooo happy you did! Attractive long term rates available.
Governor's Harbour International Airport has 3+ daily flights departing & arriving from Nassau. Eleuthera commerce is mostly cash based, there are two ATM's in Governor's Harbour.

Response from the owner Wonderful to meet S & R! I like to think they arrived as guests and left as friends, w 'Lutra sand between their toes. My guests were totally patient and understanding of 'island life' while a water problem was being addressed. They embraced the 'real' organic foods and roads to adventure on. Welkom back soon!
