Description from owner

Description

Abernant Barn has been beautifully renovated from a 100 year old stable block into a luxurious holiday home / cottage in the heart of Wales. Wonderfully secluded and set in 8 acres of private pasture, bordered by the River Irfon on one side and the Nant Cerdin on the other. The property includes fishing rights on the banks of the Irfon which runs only metres from the property. The accommodation includes underfloor heating throughout and large lounge with a wood burning stove for those cosy evenings. Outside an under cover decked area with sunken hot tub provides space to relax and BBQ whatever the weather. The village of Llanwrtyd Wells, the smallest town in Britain is only a 10 minute walk away and is well served by three pubs and a local store/garage. The local railway station is a 5 minute walk from the barn where a regular service on the heart of wales line will take you towards Builth Wells or Llandovery.

“Truly magical Christmas 2017”

Reviewed 28 Dec 2017

Many thanks Bernard for the chance to stay here. We celebrated Christmas 2017 here and was soooo magical. The barn is amazing so cozy yet enough space for 4 adults and 4 children to have space. The barn is equipt amazingly we cooked full Christmas dinner!!! Washer, dish washer and great hot tub and log burner. The location is fab we loved walks, the horses, and the local pub The only thing we all felt could of been improved was either a washing line in the boot room or an extra clothes horse we struggled with 8 people for 5 nights drying clothes and one last thing (we r still giving Abernant 5*) is storage for clothes etc... it would not have been an issue for a few nights but we felt one wardrobe and one set of draws in only one room meant some of us living out of suitcases was not ideal for 5 nights. But this in no way do we feel felt it took away the magic that is Abernant. Many thanks and we will return!!

Response from the owner Lovely to hear you had a fabulous Christmas, hope all the kids enjoyed their presents. The Village pubs are fabulous and brew their own beer so never run out even if it snows !. We'll take on board your feedback about wardrobes and look to add some more storage. Hope you will come see us again. Regards Bernard & Jane
