Description

School House, Dunan, is an historic semi-detached cottage on the waterfront on the Isle of Skye. Once the main primary school for the area, it has been changed into a lovely relaxing holiday home with amazing views.

Through the back door there is an utility room, ideal for leaving muddy boots! There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer too. The hall then leads to a well appointed kitchen with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and microwave. There is a folding table with 4 seats to enjoy family meals.

The lounge is light and bright with ample seating for 4 people. There is a TV with Freeview, DVD player, multi-fuel stove for cosy evenings in and fantastic sea views. WiFi is available throughout the property.

Upstairs there is a double bedroom with sea views, wardrobe and bedside tables as well as a twin bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers. The family bathroom has a bath, walk in shower, W.C. and wash hand basin.

Outside, the cottage is surrounded by a grassy garden and a fence/stone wall within which there is a gate giving access to the pebble beach below. The views over to the Isle of Scalpay and along the coastline are stunning!

There is private parking to the rear of the property.

School House welcomes two well behaved dog for which there is a pet fee of £30 per pet / stay/week. Please pay at the time of booking.

Disgusting, Dirty and not worth the money. No view of the Loch unless you want to sit on the roof. Needs a complete overhaul.

“Stunning view”

A stunning location with a beautiful view, breakfast and tea sitting on the decking, amazing. Swimming on the shore in front of the house in the evening, only slight issue was midges!!!

Response from the manager Thank you for your review. We always take feedback seriously, whether positive or negative, and we will take the comments on board. The owner, the housekeeper and ourselves, the agents, expressed our sincere apologies at the time. We did ask if there was any further issues after the housekeeper had revisited, to let us know and later in the week, after no further communication was received and we believed all issues to be resolved, recompense was given. We are sorry that the first impressions of School House were not as anyone would wish and you can be assured that if you did return, your experience would be different.
