Description

The Barndominium is the ultimate vacation rental! It's great for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups. It's a nice place for family reunions, retreats, weddings, corporate planning meetings, etc. This 4,100+ sf home is set back off the road in a secluded 2 acre lot surrounded by trees and wildlife. It feels like your miles away in the hill country, but only 1.2 miles from I-35 where there are lots of great restaurants, and attractions. It can sleep up to 21 people in beds.

The space

Pics sooo do not do this house justice! The look and feel are SO much more awesome in person. This very large, rustic/industrial home is great for multifamily use and built for entertaining. It's a very private mini-resort. All the bedrooms are completely separate from one another (no adjacent walls). In fact, the wing with the stairs/loft and bunks are totally separate and can be closed off from the rest of the house (great for a kids wing). With a huge kitchen, island and bar, you have tons of seating. It has 6 TV's, so everyone can relax and watch their own shows. The back porch is great for entertaining both adults and kids. Relax and enjoy the deer coming to feed at the deer feeder, play sand volley ball on the regulation size court, play table tennis, horseshoes, washer games or just relax on the porch swing and watch the sunset. You will have access to 2 acres (fenced) of land where the house is located. This is surrounded by a serene 50 acres (not to be accessed by our guests) of land which makes it very peaceful and private.

Guest access

There will be a combination lock located at the entry gate, the gate to the property and the front door. The front door lockbox has your key and you may check-in anytime after 12:00 pm. CST. You will receive a welcome message on the morning of check-in with the code and all pertinent details.

Interaction with guests

We are available 24/7 by phone, text or email, but we do not live on the premises.

The neighbourhood

This home is in the perfect location! It's just 4.2 miles from Schlitterbahn, less than 4 miles to Gruene (the famous Gruene Hall, great restaurants, shops an museum and Gruene Harley-Davidson Dealership). If you want to float the Guadalupe River or enjoy Lake Dunlap, you're only 1-1.5 miles away! You are w/in minutes of several tubing rental places. You can also enjoy a day at the beautiful local parks or go to the spring fed swimming pool. It's w/in 4.5 miles of the downtown historic area where there are lots of super cute shops, restaurants and an incredible historic bakery. There is a drive-in movie theater called Stars and Stripes just 5.6 miles away.

Other things to note

If you have small children, please take appropriate safety measures and be aware of the stairs and rail openings as well as the bunk bed heights. If there are rain storms, flooding could occur on the roads leading to the house. Please use appropriate cautions around low water crossings. This is "country living", so you may see critters that come along with the territory. There is lots of cacti throughout the property, so if you have small children, please keep them clear of this. We recommend always wearing shoes when walking in the yard.
