Description
The chalet is located within the village of Leurbost, in the North Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis, and a 10 minute drive from the main town of Stornoway.
Built from Siberian larch timber, each chalet sleeps 4 persons.
In addition to 2 spacious bedrooms, there is a fully fitted modern kitchen, a bathroom with shower, and a separate toilet. The open-plan dining and living room area commands extensive panoramic views over sea lochs and the hills of Lewis and Harris. Patio doors open onto an extensive decking area that is ideal for barbecues and outdoor dining. The chalet provide wheelchair access and are suitable for individuals with impaired mobility.
The chalets are fitted with modern appliances and a WIFI connection is also available.
This is a truly inspirational place for all the family to enjoy their holiday and to return home with unforgettable memories of these magical Hebridean Isles.
The chalet has an adjacent dog kennel and separate outhouse, which provides washing and drying facilities. Separate parking is available directly outside the chalets, with sufficient space for several vehicles. A licensed local shop, and petrol station, is conveniently situated within a short drive or 15 minute walk. The shop offers an extensive range of groceries and fresh daily produce. In addition, the shop complex features a hairdressing salon and small cafeteria.
As an additional attraction, guests will be able to enjoy the benefits of a well-fitted sheiling (bothy) called ‘Airidh Nisreabhal’, which is the Gaelic name for the nearby hill and loch situated in this majestic location. It is conveniently placed en-route to the famous and mystical ‘Callanish stones’ and is just a short 3 minute drive from the chalets. The sheiling provides an excellent vantage point for bird watchers and hillwalkers, or, alternatively, a place of tranquility and relaxation for surfers, fishermen, businessmen, honeymooners and indeed anyone else who would like to enjoy the peaceful island country life.
Wildlife such as golden eagles and deer are frequently spotted in the surrounding hills and moorland. On beautiful summer evenings, holidaymakers who have boating and fishing interests can enjoy peaceful and scenic boat trips on a selection of nearby lochs.
Guests are able to relax and enjoy refreshments whilst absorbing the magnificent scenery or witnessing some of the most glorious sunsets to be seen anywhere in the world. Enjoying a barbecue or picnic on the large decking area overlooking the surrounding lochs and hills may enhance the experience further. Pets are welcome and a kennel is provided. There is also an extensive parking area beside the sheiling.
The Chalet is fitted with an Electricity meter which can be topped up at the local shop 1.5 miles away.

“Superb Accommodation - they’ve thought of everything”
We loved our stay here, visiting as a family of 4 with our Labrador, Harris. We received such a warm & friendly welcome from Don & Christine, and helpful advice on things to see & do in the area. The accommodation was clean & very well equipped, everything you could need was there including a dishwasher, washing machine & tumble dryer. Access to the shieling was such an added bonus & we took Don’s advice & ordered delicious pizzas from Crust & ate them there. The weather during our visit was really pretty bad but the chalet was always warm & cosy without needing the heating on. This was an ideal location for exploring both Lewis & Harris. Highly recommend. Pics of the inside of the shieling, the view from & of the sheiling, the outside of our chalet & the beautiful view from the chalet.

“Very clean, well equipped central location”
Only 15 minutes from Stornaway, easy access to all of the tourist “must see” places of interest and beauty. Less than an hour from Harris. and about 40 minutes from Uig, would really recommend booking a table at the Uig Sands restaurant, best do this ahead of travelling to ensure you get a table, the food is excellent, and the drive there is stunning with fantastic beaches. The Crowne Hotel in Stornaway is a good place to eat and the Ossian beer is good pint. Really enjoyed the trip and will be back next year to shoot with RJH sporting, Russell is a great guy and can arrange most of your sporting needs for you

“Wonderful holiday”
Just had a great week at Heather Isle Chalet,top quality accommodation in an excellent area to visit all of Lewis and Harris ,the chalet is very well equipped for your stay along with a good Wi-fi signal,our only suggestion would be to maybe install some blackout blinds or curtains in the bedrooms because when we visited it didn’t go completely dark all night but that said it would not put us off returning

“Perfect”
We arrived late in the evening at the chalet, which wasn't an issue and it was easy to find. There was ample parking for our car, with plenty more room for more if needed. The chalet is very tastefully decorated, traditional and modern mixed with a Scottish twist. The living room is open plan with the kitchen and dining area and is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is modern and has everything you could possibly need in a kitchen, we even cooked a full roast dinner while we were there. There are two bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with a large double and plenty room for clothes etc. Each room also has a small TV on the wall. There are two toilets, one with a sink and the other also with a sink and a nice shower. All with hand wash and plenty of white fluffy towels. The chalet is all electric and there is a key meter in the kitchen cupboard, which you can top up at the local garage which is only a short drive up the road. The rooms are heated with wall heaters and it gets nice and toasty quite quickly. The living room area has two two seater sofas, which are comfortable and a TV on the wall, there is also a DVD player and a drawer full of movies to watch it you wanted. Outside there is a large decking area with seating and also a shed that contains a washing machine. Location wise it situated very central on the island, it's around 15 minutes to the center of Stornaway. We managed to see a fair amount of what the island has to offer, but there are so many places to see that it would take months to explore. From rugged cost lines to quaint fishing villages and some of the most stunning beaches I have ever seen, Lewis and Harris has it all. One tip i would give, is that don't be put off going out if you wake one morning to find that it is raining, as the weather changes very quickly here and within just a short drive you can be blessed with bright sunshine and a colourful rainbow in the sky, in fact we have never seen so many rainbows in such a short time. This will not be the last time we will visit Lewis and Harris and we will certainly be looking to book at Heather Isle Chalet's
