Description

Very central location only 4 minutes walk from York Minster and the historic city centre. The magnificent 14th century Monk Bar which is the tallest and most elaborate of the 4 gateways into the ancient city is only 2 minutes walk away. Monk Bar stands over the entrance into Goodramgate which contains a wealth of shops, cafes, restaurants as well as the oldest surviving row of houses in the city behind which sits a hidden medieval church. The apartment is in a Grade 2 listed building and was formerly the nurses quarters to the old city hospital. The tastefully furnished first floor apartment is central but quiet and cosy being at the rear of the property away from any traffic noise. The bedroom has a king-sized bed fitted with crisp cotton sheets and the good sized wardrobe and bedside drawers provide ample space. The lounge contains a comfortable 2 seater sofa and separate chair plus an attractive electric stove providing extra heat &/or a nice cosy glow to the room. There is also a small extending dining table and 2 chairs for the traveller who prefers a quiet, cosy meal away from the crowds after a busy days sightseeing. The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven and hob plus microwave, washer/dryer and fridge. The bathroom has a newly fitted over-the-bath shower and glass screen. An allocated parking space is provided at no extra cost although a car wouldn't be needed due to the central location. There are countless bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance and a well stocked Sainsburys supermarket is only a short walk away.

Getting around

A parking space is provided at no extra cost. Once parked there will be no need to use your car due to the very central location. All Yorks main attractions are within easy walking distance just a stroll through the historic streets or along the city walls walk.

“Perfect location”

Well equipped clean apartment. Great location just outside the wall with the added bonus of car parking. We were mid week but I can imagine it would be noisier of a weekend, due to the neighbours above. (Think they walked in size 14 boots)

“Great apartment, wonderful loaction”

We love York and were really pleased to come across this apartment complete with parking. It's literally a couple of minutes walk from York Minster and close to a great selection of bars and restaurants. The apartment itself is really comfortable with everything we needed. The owner was very responsive and gave us loads of helpful tips and recommendations. We will most certainly be back soon.
