Description

Kestrel is a new (2017) camping / glamping pod - one of a small cluster of ten pods located at Broomfields Farm, Whitby. Each pod is 6 m x 3 m and has a separate bedroom which has a double and a single bed. A pull out sofa or futon in the living room means that 4 can sleep comfortably. Bed linen and towels are provided. Each pod is equipped with a TV, microwave, kettle and heater. All toilets and showers are provided in the nearby services building which has 4 separate shower rooms, washing machine, tumble dryer and a shared fridge. A charcoal BBQ is available if needed.

Broomfields Farm is in Whitby, just 3 minutes drive to the town centre and is close to Sainsburys, a bakery and two pubs all in walking distance. Part of the farm lies within the North York Moors National Park and we are ideally placed with direct access to the Cinder Path for walking and cycling to Robin Hoods Bay or Whitby.

Our pods are identical inside (but may have a sofa bed instead of a futon) so the same pictures apply to each. A number of the pods face South and have decking included. Other pods face North and look towards the sea and have a grass frontage. A view of the front of the pod is included in each description.

“Broomfields farm whitby”

We stayed in a camping pod £62 for 1 night, 3 of us stayed. Can’t fault it for the price, the toilet and shower block only a few steps away. The cinder path ran past the bottom of the farm so you could walk into Whitby ( about 1hr walk).

“Perfect pods”

Really lovely little site, quiet and secluded but only 2 minutes drive down into Whitby or a pleasant stroll on the cinder path that goes past the bottom of the field. Pods are plenty big enough for 2/3 and we had a dog too. Four might find it a bit of a squeeze, but it’s doable. Good facilities, though the shower block was chilly (it is February after all)

“The perfect place for peace and quiet”

Fantastic little place we started over the new year it got a little cold on an evening but nothing we didn't prepare for with lots of layers. Hut was a great location for access to the cinder path and would recommend the walk to Robin hoods Bay its about 8+ mile round trio but the village itself has load to offer woth amazing food at the marina Hotel I would strongly recommend The amenities were great also been to a good few campsites and not many have their own shower/toilet room which makes it great for us ladies. As there is nothing worse than trying to get your bra on in a tiny shower cubicle with your feet still in a puddle wrestling with a soggy shower curtain. Overall I would definitely come back. Me David and William all loved it ❤
