We stayed in this cottage for 2 weeks. It had a/c in the living room, which cooled the open floor plan kitchen, LR and dining area. The a/c in the master bedroom kept it comfortable for us to sleep at night during the hot weather. The house was decorated very nicely with each room color coordinated. A fridge with an ice maker was convenient. The only problem we had was, in the pics posted there was a gas grill, and when we arrived, there was a charcoal grill. We spoke with the realtor, who spoke with the homeowner, and the next day the owner brought a gas grill. It makes it so much easier, faster & cleaner to grill w/ gas than charcoal. We hope they keep a gas grill their for all their renters. We appreciated their consideration with supplying a gas grill, as we are sure all others will also. There were puzzles, cards, games & books to use for rainy days. The outdoor shower was great and the trees surrounding the property gave us privacy and quiet. The house was 5-10 min away from the ocean or bay beaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
"We were looking for relaxation; we found it here."
Left on 08/15/2016 for a stay in August 2016
The house is situated in such a way to afford privacy and a vast view of the bayside of the Eastham area. We were close enough to nice restaurants, but we visited fish markets and stayed at the house, using the grill and enjoying the sunsets, instead. (The kitchen is very well equipped.)
The house is very comfortable for four adults - we found everything we needed. The deck is very spacious and outfitted with a wonderful outdoor table, an umbrella, six chairs and four new lounge chairs. There is a very sturdy beach umbrella and several sand chairs for use on the beach.
Each morning, my husband and I walked on the beach and never encountered more than half a dozen other walkers. If you crave privacy, this house provides it, while providing a beautiful "dock" and a lovely sandy beach from which to swim, watch the tides, collect shells, walk or just relax. And all the while, Route 6 and its conveniences are just minutes away.
The ONLY thing which could (and should) be improved upon is the salt build-up on the outside of the multiple sliding glass doors. We went through a lot of Windex in an attempt to clean these doors (the salt build-up made them very hazy and hard to see through), but we were unable to clear the salt; too much had built up by the second week in August. The doors need to be cleaned regularly in order to stay on top of this.
Aside from that, the house invites relaxation. We didn't turn on the television once - nature provides enough "entertainment."
This is a beautiful spot in North Eastham and we are already looking forward to another week in 2017.
Eastham Oasis is a beautful house and we enjoyed our stay in September for 9 days. There were 5 of us and plenty of space. The main floor is an open concept so we enjoyed spending time together. There are 4 bedrooms with one on the first floor. My Grandson who is 4 loved watching Thomas the Train on the 70" smart tv. The house is pet friendly which is very hard to find. Also the house has central air conditioning which we needed the first seven days because it was very warm and muggy. Our best day was going to Race Point where we drove my Daughter's Yukon on the beach. We are going to rent again next year for sure. The owner Janna is very wonderful and kept in contact upon arrival and departure.
I had a very enjoyable stay on Huckleberry Lane. I spent the first two nights on my own and was very pleased with the location. I rode my bike to the beach for the day and also to watch the beautiful bayside sunsets. My boyfriend I end enjoyed being able to enjoy the Wellfleet beaches and the Beachcomber. Sam's deli has amazing sandwiches and Karoo is about three minutes away. The cottage is light and airy with lots of windows. We learned to keep the shades down during the day to keep the cottage cool. The bed was comfortable but a little short for me (I am 5'9) but liked having the windows open at night and it was quite cozy. The kitchen had all the necessary essentials and was easy to keep clean. I think the only thing needed was an additional fan to circulate the air on those hot nights. Definitely recommend for a small family or couple.
End of lane; very quiet and private. We had lots of space to store 2 kayaks and 3 bikes just be sure to bring a tarp to cover your outdoor toys as there is no storage at the cottage. Nice grassy common unfenced yard was large for the Cape.
ROW to beach is short and beautiful as it passes 3 plant zones. Also a short path to Wiley Park which is also beautiful. Our 4 year old loved the walk and the playground. This rental is all about its wonderful location at a fair price for the Cape. Kingsbury Beach has no parking spaces and is a very short walk.
Few negatives -- No blankets; the indoor shower head had poor flow (outdoor shower was fine); no blankets-- but the price is right.
We were 3 adults and one 1 child and stayed at the "Emily M." cottage. Will likely return again.
