Description

Glen Carragrich is a crofter's cottage that has been in the family for many years and is the only cottage on the croft. Situated just a few miles outside Tarbert the main village on the Isle of Harris, Glen Carragrich is set in a large garden and has stunning sea views from all main rooms. Furnished for comfort and in keeping with tradition it offers visitors a taste of the Hebridean lifestyle.

Take a window seat and watch the light play on the water, see the ferry come and go, watch the numerous fishing boats and yachts pass by. Take a stroll down the quiet lane, or climb the hill at the back of the house for a truly spectacular view. At the rear of the house is a picnic table. Grab a coffee, or cold drink and sit (hopefully) in the sun, admire the views or do some birdwatching. Why not see if you can spot a golden eagle or sea eagle soaring over seals in the bay?

The cottage is fully furnished and well equipped.

Though accommodating more, the let is restricted to a maximum of 4.

Getting around

Although not necessary one would benefit from having a car. There is a local bus that runs from Tarbert to Scalpay. From Tarbert you can get buses to South Harris, Husinish and Stornoway. If you do not want to drive you can take the Tour bus and see the beautiful sights of the Island.

“Lovely Harris cottage”

The cottage is spacious with 3 double bedrooms. It is kitted out with everything you would need and is spotlessly clean. The location is about a 10 minute drive from Tarbert and is very nicely situated with a view over the lochs. The Isle of Scalpay is 10 minutes away by car.

Had a fantastic week in Dina's cottage. Cottage was warm and cosy and so well equipped. Scenery and wildlife in abundance. Will definitely be back.
