Description
The Bragora is a newly restored and nicely furnished first floor apartment with a balcony and charming views of one of the most beautiful squares in Venice. This bright and airy apartment is located in the Castello District, only minutes from the bustling Riva degli Schiavoni and from the S. Zaccaria vaporetto (water bus) stop. Access is easy via a short stairway and is particularly suitable for less athletic travellers.
The apartment is ideally laid out with a central living room located between the two bedroom suites. Each double (or twins) bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen is next to a dining room. Antique wooden beamed ceilings and original Venetian terrazzo flooring guarantee that historic touch that is often requested by our guests. The apartment offers every comfort and comes equipped with air-conditioning, a flat screen TV and DVD player, Wi-Fi, a washing machine, dishwasher, oven/microwave, 4-burner gas stove, big fridge with freezer, kettle and more. Even in summer there is a good cross draft that usually makes the A/C unnecessary.
The balcony overlooking Campo della Bragora offers a unique opportunity to soak up the Venetian ambience – including children playing, friends chatting over a coffee, people walking dogs –in the campo. There is a café bar below the apartment that is only open during the day. At night the entire city, including Campo della Bragora becomes quiet (apart from during Carnevale).
Landmarks in the neighborhood include the Arsenale, the famous naval harbor and boatbuilding center of the Serenissima Republic. For centuries the most powerful fleet in the world was built here; now it houses naval offices and is the site of the renowned Biennale contemporary art exhibition. Piazza San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale are under 10 minutes walk along the splendid Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront. Many restaurants enjoyed by locals and attractive and authentic shops are hidden in this area of the city, which is noticeably less touristy or frenetic than the San Marco District.
We recommend this apartment to couples or families with grown-up children as well as to long-term visitors.
