The Michiel is a newly restored luxury apartment embodying the real essence of the Venetian houses. It is found at the first floor of an historical palace located in the western part of the Cannaregio district, only one minute walk to the well-known Campo Santi Apostoli and 5 minutes’ walk to the Rialto Bridge and its colorful open-air market. It is a convenient location close to everything, tucked away from the crowd, easy to reach from both public transports or water taxi.
The private entrance hall at the ground floor tells you a lot about the long history of this place: century old raw bricks, wooden beams and stone sculptures match up with antique furniture. The super-spacious living room can be accessed through a large antique wooden stairway. Here is found an beautiful antique dining table and plenty of sitting space on comfortable sofas. The living room and two bedrooms face a small and quiet square facing south and are inundated with light, while the rest of the house receive little sun but is well illuminated artificially.
Every piece of furniture in this house is precious, dating back one or more centuries, including the stunning original sculptured doors: tenants who have the privilege to stay at the Michiel apartment should take care of the furniture to avoid damages.
The care taking landlord didn't compromise on technology either: the 2 bathrooms are completely new and very functional with large shower box, the kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with every possible amenity, there is air conditioning in every room, Wi-Fi internet connection, large flat-screen TV with international channels (Sky Tv), DVD player, good sound system, washing machine, dishwasher, etc.
We suggest the Michiel apartment to demanding guests, possibly adults or anyway responsible children. We also recommend to catch a private water taxi to reach the apartment especially if you carry plenty of luggage. The 3 bedrooms can be prepared either as 1 double and 2 twins or as 2 doubles and 1 twin, please specify how to prepare the beds.
Additional amenities include: iron & ironing board, smoking not permitted, central location, first or ground floor, hairdryer, very spacious.TripAdvisor property ID 2373393...Read more

Thanks for letting us use the apartment a bit longer. We left it at 10:30 am yesterday and then returned at 3:30 to pick up our suitcases prior to meeting our taxi. It was so nice not to have to have our last day carrying the suitcase around.
It really is a most beautiful apartment.
Thank you for your guidance in helping me to choose it. All 4 of us loved it. There is so much generous stylish living space with the most comfortable sofas and marvellous views onto that charming little neighbourhood square.
It is perfectly situated - such easy walking and within such a charming locality with the supermarket only a couple of minutes away. We so enjoyed it all - maybe a few days longer to do more walking as well as more resting!!
Enrico was really welcoming and helpful too. It really was such a marvellous holiday - just what I wanted. I love being able to have more space for the family and me - hotel rooms can be so small and in Michiel we had an enormous living area in which to just sit and be together in great comfort.
Thanks so much and I hope that your business goes from strength to strength. I will certainly recommend you to friends.

Danielle and the Michiel apartment turned out to be more than we hoped for when we visited Venice. The feel was that of renting in an historical building, but the bathrooms and kitchen were nicely updated (although we never cooked). The living room was very comfortable, with actual working wifi, which was important as we had to spend more time there than planned when our son broke his ankle. Danielle was great arranging extra water taxis at the last minute for unexpected trips to the airport. Although it was on the second floor, it was a large staircase so manueverable even on crutches.
The apartment was off a quiet courtyard but close to grocery store, restaurants, and vaporetto stops. It was only a few minutes walk to the north side of the island to catch the vaporetto to Murano but also very convenient to the Grand Canal.
The apartment was good sized and I would highly recommend for adults or families with older children like ours.

The apartment was very much as advertised with spacious living quarters (including a nice mix of contemporary furnishings and elegant, artsy touches) and functional bedrooms and kitchen. For our needs - as a refuge from the frequently busy Venice crowds and a safe haven to relax, cook our own meals, etc. - the apartment fit the bill perfectly
Our party included three forty-something adults and two seventy-something seniors. We found the location to be ideal, in a very quiet campo just steps from the main thoroughfare of Cannareggio and a short walk to the bustle of San Marco.
This was my first time renting through Truly Venice. I had not seen many web reviews of this service so was flying a little blind. The overall service was really outstanding. Our in-city contact (Laetizia) was available when needed, and very accommodating - arranging water taxis for both our arrival and departure among other things.
