“Maybe once upon a time this was a special retreat.”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2022

Christmas Eve we arrived for a week. Advertised as a Bothy, we can only describe as a flat above a working workshop. There was a lot of activity on this family farm with cars coming and going every da… More

Response from the owner I am so sorry to find this review as I am a super host on Airbnb which means we average 4.9 out of 5 for every visit. Apart from this guest people eulogise about the beauty and tranquility of the Both and the word perfect comes up non stop. As can be seen in past reviews we continue to get five stars. These guests arrived at a particularly busy time as it was Christmas and we now have a device on the telly so people can stream wifi through it . I am sorry they didn't enjoy their stay but feel it is the exception . They don't sound as though they enjoyed the sirrounding beauty either. We pride ourselves on cleanliness and comfort. Both of which is found exemplary in numourous reviews. V sad to hear but I hope they have a happy life elsewhere . The Bothy is not above a workshop but maybe they heard people coming and going as we had a lot of family staying . There is only one bathroom but the bedroom is beside it ! So I don't understand why that's a problem with only one couple. Please look at our reviews elsewhere to feel assured that a stay in this idyllic area is worth it. A perfect place to renew and feel refreshed .

“Perfect quiet get away for a couple”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2020

A very friendly working farm with everything needed for a quick quiet weekend away. In a lovely location surrounded by fields and long country roads, the nearest town I found was only a 10min drive away if shops are needed. Lots of places to go on near by walks and trails :)

“Idyllic”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2018

We've just returned from our minimoon at the Bothy and it was wonderful. Amazing location, peaceful, thoughtfully appointed and run by a warm, generous, relaxed and thoughtful family. My husband is a fly fisherman and loved the excellent fishing almost from the back door. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in away from home. We totally chilled out for a few days and enjoyed spectacular walks from the front door. The wifi is unreliable (it's a rural setting) and I would echo another reviewer's comment that the sofa isn't great for romantic snuggling but it was still an exceptional place to spend our first days as newly weds.

Response from the owner Dear Rachal, Thank you for your lovely review . We enjoyed having you to stay. We hope to get a new rooter in this week to help boost wifi strength . I will be ordering another sofa ! Thank you for the feedback. Best Wishes, Juliet
