Beautiful cottage with loads of outdoor space for the kids to play, any queries were answered promptly. The whole cottage was comfy and homely and we cannot wait to book again.

“Good value for money”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2022

I paid £200 for a 2 night stay in sea breeze. I thought that was good value considering may other properties were double the price. It was a bit dated and quite basic but a bit quirky! I wouldn't rule out staying there again if it was the same price

“Very outdate”

Reviewed 27 May 2022

Very outdate we could not use the cooker it took 2 hours just to boil an egg, hit my head a few times the ceiling was so low, could not open windows, it even had a vhs player inside. Won't be going back.

“A very tied cottage”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2021

I didn’t expect 5 star from the price we paid but this cottage is very dated. It could definitely benefit from a lick of paint and a good clean. We had to wash the crockery before we used it but only ate breakfast in as the cooker was dated too. When we arrived both of the tired sofas had soaking wet arms ( I am guessing they were marked and had been washed) so we covered these with towels and we used our picnic blanket to cover one of the sofas. The play room had a very old pool table in with a half set of balls and one cue with no tip.

“Neat little cottage”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2020

Convenient to Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors (we were there to walk) and Coast. Reasonably equipped and comfortable. Could have been a bit cleaner but we were mostly out. Not impressed by being next to the sewage farm but it was tolerable.

Really nice, out dated and need a bit of money spent on it. Also to much of a smell of drains and sewage.

Positives: Cheap: was not very expensive for 5 people staying. Great parking. We had two cars parked there and went and came regularly no issues parking ever. Great location, 5 minute drive and 40 min walk to centre of Whitby. Located 1 min away from sainsburys b&m and argos. 2 minutes from a pub with lovely food. Changed booking due to covid at no extra cost Children playground. Provided with cleaning supplies, tea towel oven gloves and some basics like salt, tea and sugar. Negatives: Not clean! Found pacifiers, half eaten biscuits and a gone off apple in the home the drain was also full of food. Biscuits in cupboard so clearly not cleaned out. In light of the seriousness of Covid this is not really acceptable. When walked in there was loads of flys, had to go get fly spray and room freshener. Took 10 minutes to find the rotten apple core that had attracted the flys. Noisy: it is an old home so some creaks are to be expected however the bed and stairs make so much noise anyone sleeping downstairs is likely to be woken with any movement in the home. The next door is attached so any little noise is heard. If you are unlucky like us you will have a party staying next door doing karaoke till 11pm when you have children trying to sleep. Doors: two of the doors are not great. The front door opens easily to a point then sticks so in order for any adult to go in you do need to give it a bit of a push. Bathroom door needs a bit of a pull to open it again. Not enough to put you off but a bit of a hinderence. Playground: whilst the playground is also a positive for the reason it is on location and can be used any time it is also a negative the fact it is not been well looked after is a downfall the climbing net is not attached to the floor and one of the swing sets is out of order. Games room. I can not tell you if this is good or not as it was locked throughout our stay. The brochure says is available but I couldn't get in. Although looking through the window it didn't look much worth the effort I could see some old looking toys and a pool table that needed some tlc. This may have been locked due to covid but if you pay for a location with a games room you should be told its not available. 6 people: whilst this is available for 6 people it's not wholly adaptable for 6. The fridge/freezer hardly holds any food certainly not enough for 6 people to eat there for 4 days. There are 4 large cups and 4 bowls. The cooker is old and you can not see which button is for which hob as it is worn away, however, the cooker did work throughout our stay. There is only one small bathroom which has a bath/shower. You need to be quite short to fit in the shower and it doesn't stay on the shower head hook (learned this by turning shower on and being hit in the head with the shower). Bins: the book clearly asks you to put your rubbish in the outside bins unfortunately this was not at all possible as there are only 2 bins and one recycling bin for all the Houses and these were full when we got there they were put out to empty on the day we left so we could never use them. Also no bin bag provided so you will need to purchase those before arriving. Overall: we did stay the entire time and there is a phone number you can call. We chose not to as once we had gotten rid of the flys and actually cleaned the place the rest of the stuff couldn't be fixed during our stay anyway. We did enjoy the location and found it very easy to get to where we wanted to go to. I hope the owners take the feedback here and make some changes, if the house was clean and tidy and adequate for 6 people we would have recommended the place purly for the location. Sadly we will certainly not be visiting again would rather spend a bit more money and have a better experience.
