Originally built for the ships officers and purchased for the princely sum of £137 back in 1868, Frankland House is split over 5 floors and has been lovingly restored, allowing you to take in the sights and sounds of this beautiful Yorkshire coast. We have made every effort to ensure the house has everything needed for a happy stay, from tasteful décor throughout to being fitted with the highest standard of furnishings.

A two minute walk will bring you into the hustle and bustle of this seaside town, with its quaint cobbled streets, numerous eateries, and atmospheric harbour. One of the first attractions you’ll see out of the window is the old steam train as it travels out of Whitby into the Yorkshire countryside, which is a must during your stay. We hope you have an unforgettable experience.

All gas, electric, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available. Wi-Fi. Welcome pack. Car park, permit provided for 1 car. No smoking.

Please note that bedrooms 5 and 6 can have the king bed converted into twin beds where required.

Smart TV with BT vision (sports package), music player and DVD player provided.

“PERFECT”

We stayed at Franklin House to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday with friends. The house was perfect, spacious, comfortable and each room decorated beautifully. The kitchen/dining room was my favourite place to sit and catch up with a glass of wine or two. The location is perfect easy access to town and very handy local stores. Whitby is a wonderful town with lots to entertain you and easy access to surrounding areas.

How do damage deposits work?

If Lea (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
