Seamoor House is well established in the Whitby holiday letting market having been extensively refurbished to provide a comfortable, stylish, well equipped holiday home for up to 14

A large, detached late Edwardian seaside home with sea views, Seamoor house is situated in the West Cliff area of Whitby on the North Yorkshire coast

Up to 14 guests can be comfortably accommodated, ideal for larger groups of friends or extended family to enjoy a seaside holiday in the summer or a fun filled weekend break any time of the year

We are happy to welcome 2 well behaved dogs with responsible owners at an extra fee of £35 per dog (arranged directly with the owner after booking)

Whitby itself has so much to offer - from the obvious delights of beach, harbour and town (all within a few minutes walk), a huge choice of activities and the North Yorkshire Moors only a short drive away

There are fabulous coastal walks and picturesque villages such as Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes, Sandsend, Runswick Bay and Danby nearby

Refurbished, decorated and furnished as an up market holiday retreat - we have tried to create a stylish, comfortable and well equipped holiday home catering for all ages and requirements (incl Sky Sports, pool table and play house) – we hope it is a real home from home for everyone who stays there.

A large open plan kitchen/diner has patio doors opening onto the rear garden. The fully equipped, modern white gloss kitchen has loads of storage and stone worktops. The dining area has a large sociable square table that can comfortably seat up to 14.

A door leads through to a lounge/games room at the front of the house with plenty of comfortable seating, electric fire, large wall mounted TV with Sky + Sports, a PS3, music dock and pool table.

A second reception room has further comfy seating, electric fire, 2nd large flat screen TV with Sky and a DVD player.

There is a large selection of books, games, DVDs and quizzes - so no excuse for not having enough to do in the house!

The ground floor bedroom at the back of the house can be used as a third reception room if preferred, it also has a flat screen Freeview TV and comfortable seating in the form of a sofabed. This room also has twin beds and can sleep 3 - it has slightly limited hanging but lots of other storage available. A modern downstairs shower room is next to this bedroom.

Up the Edwardian staircase to the original galleried landing there are 5 double bedrooms (two with sea views) all en suite - one with a bath, 4 with power showers.

The bedrooms - 3 with double beds, 1 Superking and 1 with linkable twin -Superking when linked. If needed there is a comfortable chair bed in Bedroom 1 (the 14th sleeping space) a travel cot is available on request (please bring your own bedding) and 2 high chairs and two booster seats are also to hand.

Outside there is off road parking for 4/5 medium sized cars with unrestricted parking on the street.

There is a secluded, sunny, well established and largely walled garden to the back of the house with garden furniture, bbq and benches for relaxing or dining alfresco. The side gate can be closed and bolted so the garden can be secured completely for dogs and children.

For Hot Tub hire

Please contact Smurfs Hot Tub Hire, through their Facebook page, to check availability and costs before booking the accommodation to avoid disappointment. There is a charge of £40 for providing water and electricity - please let us know when booking.

Upon request the large detached garage provides secure storage for guests bikes etc.

A little brick summer house has been turned into a children's playhouse together with play kitchen and train set. A weatherproof table can also be taken outside for alfresco dining for the kids!

Seamoor House has lovely views from the two rear upstairs bedrooms across Tuckers field and out to sea and it is just a short stroll to the lift or paths that will take you down onto beautiful Whitby beach - with special beach wheelchairs available to rent.

An ideal location means you are only few minutes walk from the heart of Whitby with its harbour, shops, bars, restaurants and station. (NB - the walk back to the house is slightly uphill but taxis are available by the harbour and station for the short ride back if required).

The lovely Pannett Park with its beautiful green spaces, fantastic children's playground and museum is a short stroll away.

A few hundred meters walk in the other direction, towards the sea on West Cliff, sits Whitby Pavilion which holds a huge range of events throughout the year.

Whitby Leisure centre round the corner with fantastic pool and fitness facilities (incl Gym, badminton, table and short tennis) and 2 new tennis courts. Tuckers Field also houses the Rifle Club and Bowls Club.

Whitby Golf Club has a lovely cliff top course with golf simulator is a mile from the house.

Getting around

From Seamoor House you can walk to many attractions but a short car journey will take you to some lovely coastal villages - if you don't fancy a walk along the coastal path! The North Yorkshire Moors can be reached by car or the historical steam train that runs from Whitby Station through several villages in the Moors ending at Pickering - a fabulous day out for all the family. Whitby Station is also connected to other larger towns in the area.

We are available through the website to answer questions/concerns anytime and aim to respond quickly to any messages. Once you have paid the balance of your stay Holiday Lettings will release our email and mobile details so you can contact us directly anytime. We will then email you our Directions & Access and Guest Safety documents together with our Welcome Pack which tells you all about the house and also contains plenty of information about things to do in the area. We are not available in person but our housekeeper lives locally and is available to deal with any issues that can't be dealt with by email or phone.

Excellent house for a large family reunion. Every bedroom en-suite, good facilities, 3 rooms and large kitchen downstairs (plus children’s playhouse in garden) made sure everyone had space to enjoy themselves. Great location, minutes from the beach, also a short drive to the moors for amazing walks.
