Description

NO TRAFFIC LIGHTS, NO CROWDS AND NO POLLUTION…JUST PURE FUN AND RELAXATION

Situated in the Columbia River Gorge only 80 miles from Portland, Oregon and within easy driving distance to Hood River, Oregon and the Spectacular Columbia River Gorge, our Tree House bestows the wonder of the wilderness while keeping you close to the dining, wind-surfing, sailing, fishing, white-water rafting, kayaking, and entertainment offered in White Salmon, Hood River, the White Salmon River, and the Columbia River Gorge!

Relax in the private hot tub, let the sun, the moon and the stars wink at you through the gentle undulations of the firs in the peace of Lothlorien Woods. Nestled at the foot of scenic, snow-capped Mt. Adams, Treehouse Tranquil-A-Tree is a serene and charming, one-of-a-kind tree-house hidden in the forest with a view of snow-covered Mt. Adams -- Second only to Mt. Rainier in the Pacific Northwest.

On the main floor is the small but fully equipped kitchen, propane range and wood stove. The wood stove provides the primary heat for the tree house - firewood is included in the rental fee. A propane infra-red grill is on the covered deck, conveniently located just outside the kitchen door.

The first floor sitting room has a fold-out futon/sofa covered with a coverlet made by the co-owner, Rebecca Conant. On the wall hangs one of her first quilts, entitled, "A Trip Around Lothlorien Woods: The Importance of Water." Throughout the treehouse quilts and photos by Rebecca are on display.

Up the hand-made, spiral staircase find the custom-crafted Western Red Cedar log bed and unique bathroom facilities.

Near-by all season activities abound - White Water Rafting, Kayaking, Swimming, Kite Boarding, Sail Boarding, Snow Shoeing, Cross-Country Skiing, Horseback Riding, Hiking, Spelunking in the Ice Caves, Waterfalls, and much more!

NOTES:

Pets: We allow well-behaved dogs only and require that dogs not be allowed on the furniture or beds. We do have a big, loving farm dog Bruiser and his young co-hort, Jasmine. But if guests are unsure whether their dog plays nice with strange dogs, let us know in advance so arrangements can be made for Bruiser and Jasmine.

Communications and Technology: There is only sporadic cell-phone access on the property and internet is not provided. The stereo accommodates cassettes (for which we have an eclectic supply) and CDs, but does not have USB ports, or a dock for iPhones or iPads.

Rustic Lived-In Feeling: This peaceful, rustic cabin is definitely not the Taj Mahal in the trees or a tony resort. However, if you are looking for a place with that comfy, lived-in feeling where you can unplug, relax and enjoy nature, this is the place for you. Treehouse Tranquil-A-Tree is more than 40 years old (built originally by a couple who raised their family in the tree house), predating the current tree house rage. The Tree House complements (rather than dominates) the surrounding forest and landscape. Entering our Tree House is a step back in time to a simpler, more peaceful time and place.

Children: All ages welcome with some cautions - Please advise ages of children.

Dogs: Most dogs welcome. Some restrictions and cautions apply. Our Big, Loving Farm Dog Bruiser and the young Jasmine lives on the farm and welcomes guests, happily providing hiking companionship if desired. Bruiser can be a bit of a beggar, but goes home when told.
