      Bamboolicious!

Left on 04/26/2013 for a stay in April 2013

Fresh into marriage my husband embarked on our honeymoon and stumbled across Bamboo Valley Inn. I loved the idea of being away from too many tourists, and calmly having our own space to relax, cook, and enjoy some country air. The photos did not disappoint. We had the Bamboo Suite and enjoyed a big large bed, an enormous bathroom, a beautiful view and a great open kitchen. It was so nice and quiet, yet not far from beaches and great access to anywhere we needed to go.

Tom and Vicki are very hospitable and gracious hosts. They are extremely organized. It was lovely to know if we needed to bring a cooler on a road trip, we had access to one and chairs for the beach. We could do our laundry when we needed to as well. We loved our stay there, and the Haiku area so much. So much, that now we feel inspired to find a cozy place in that same area.

You'd miss out if you didn't book a stay with them!

      Most Comfortable Stay!

Left on 02/03/2013 for a stay in January 2013

We stayed a week in the Bamboo View Suite and thorough enjoyed the kind and attentive hospitality provided by Tom & Vicki, the owners. There really is nothing wanting. It was peaceful and restful. While the two suites are private and in separate wings, we shared the spacious lanai with another couple from the adjacent Bamboo Suite but we were never in each other's way. We were lucky? If you want to be close to beaches and the tourist crowd, then this place is not a good choice. However, if you want peace and quiet up country with the owners' beautiful horse as company amongs luxurious comfort, then this is it. Tom & Vicki are extremely professional, responsive and organised. We suspect they had hospitality training or just possess tremendous aloha spirit! We can't wait to return.

      Beautiful location--great hosts

Left on 03/30/2012 for a stay in March 2012

We spent a month at the Bamboo Valley Inn, and enjoyed every minute of it. The quiet solitude in a beautiful setting is beyond reproach. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend the Inn, and will stay there again upon our return. Unfortunately our month has ended, so "turn out the lights, the party is over". Our thanks to Tom and Vicki.

      Fantastic

Left on 12/20/2011 for a stay in December 2011

We stayed in one of the Bamboo View Suites and can't say enough about the beautifully decorated and very clean accomodations. The location and views are beautiful and very private in the middle of trees amd lush vegetation.
The suite was spacious and had everything we could have needed during our stay and more. Vicki went above and beyond - greeting us personally and giving us a tour, providing a lovely breakfast tray and even a mahalo card on our last night. Our only regret was that we didn't stay at Bamboo Valley for our entire trip.
Some travellers may wish to be closer to the beach or be able to walk places - be aware that you will need to drive to the beach and into town.

A wonderful respite!! Every element met our needs in every way.

Left on 10/10/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We loved Bamboo Valley Inn. We were intrigued by the Paia/Haiku area from the start and certainly not disappointed. From booking and all my questions to a personal farewell note, we were very impressed with the owners.
We arrived with the welcome basket of goodies (very much appreciated after our night flight from Moloki), the choice of two wonderful beds and great property layout. Most of our cooking was outside (we did miss a stove) and when we ran out of propane, it was promptly addressed.
I had a ball running in the area. The run from the property to a small band of stores is about 2 km downhill, so the reverse uhill past organic self-serve fruitstands is a wonderful way to wake up in the morning. We'd book Bamboo Valley Inn again in a heartbeat.

Owners very easy to work with

Left on 08/09/2011 for a stay in July 2011

We were travelling from Lahaina and wanted to drop off our luggage late in the morning to visit Haleakala for the day. Tom put our luggage in his garage while the guests before us checked out and had everything in our bedrooms when we arrived later that night. It was much easier not driving a fully loaded car up the mountain! We had a problem with the electricity going out several times our first night there, but Tom had an electrician come the next day to fix it. A note with an apology for the inconvenience was left on our door! Tom and Vicki were very accomodating and I would highly recommend their home to others. The accomodations were much nicer than the pictures depict, and the fresh flowers on the outdoor table and basket of breakfast goodies were a special touch. The only negative was the shared washer/dryer which the other guests always seemed to grab before I had the chance, but that is no reflection on Tom, Vicki or their beautiful home. I wouldn't think twice about making return plans to the Bamboo Valley Inn!

Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We stayed for approximately 10 days in Tom & Vicki's upcountry rental and enjoyed each of these days. The accommodation is tastefully furnished, well equipped, nicely decored and very clean. The bottom line is, that it is hard to find something comparable.
Tom & Vicki are really helpful and pleasant persons.
We would rent again their accommodation for a future vacation.

      Thanks again!

We stayed here for 10 days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Tom and Vicki are great hosts. Not only have they created a living area that's comfortable, clean and quiet, but they also go out of their way to provide you with boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers and beach toys for the kids.
Centrally located, we could easily access any part of the island. We would definitely return.

Everything about our stay was exemplary; can't wait to come back

Left on 03/12/2011 for a stay in January 2011

I stayed at the Bamboo View Suite with my husband & two friends for a month on a yoga holiday. From the very beginning when I inquired & made the reservation, Vicki & Tom did everything very professionally. They're always available by email or phone; they accepted credit card payments & sent out contracts with everything clearly spelled out.

The suite is tastefully decorated, with none of the tacky, pastel, aquatic-themed furniture & bedding that adorn many a Hawaiian condo. Instead, there are a few sculptures & lovely canvases from local artists hung around the house. We were greeted with a welcome hamper with teas, fruit & biscuits. Our suite had a full kitchen with fridge, microwave & dishwasher. In lieu of an oven there are two burner plates & good-sized toaster oven, and we were able to cook anything we needed during our stay with the available utensils, pots & pans. Laundry machine & dryer are around the corner from the house, but beware of the mosquitoes! If you prefer soft, pillow-top mattresses, you'll love their beds. There is plenty of closet & drawer space for long stays--I don't pack light but still managed to store everything away.

The location is in quiet, residential Haiku. The only noise you will hear are the birds in the morning & evening. It's situated down a valley so you won't hear car noise from the main road. I liked the house's proximity from Paia & Makawao, and Kahului's only 30 minutes away.

Tom & Vicki were always helpful, never intrusive. No request was ever too much trouble, and you'll see them once in a while replenishing supplies & preparing rooms for new guests. When the washing machine broke down, Tom promptly replaced it with another one the next day! During a blackout during heavy rain they came by & checked if we were OK. They were always a phone call away if they weren't on-site.

By the time I left at the end of January, all their suites were fully booked until Easter. I'm looking forward to booking my next stay in Maui with them, and have recommended them to all my friends.

If you desire a peaceful, beautiful Upcountry B&B;, this is it!

Left on 02/28/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Tom and Vicki offer a beautiful, impeccably clean, and newly constructed vacation rental in Upcountry Maui. The furnishings and decor are tasteful and artistically pleasing, the location is away from the normal tourist and congested areas but close enough to everything you want to explore and reach by car: beaches, Road to Hana, Kihei, airport, AKL Lavender Farm, botanical gardens, Lahaina, whale watching, Haleakala National Park, etc. If it's peace and quiet you desire, this is the place. Tom and Vicki are not imposing but they are available if you need them. Because the county of Maui actually enforces the state of Hawaii's law banning the preparation of warm and prepared breakfast meals typically found in other states' B&B;, we were satisfied with the packaged snacks found in the food basket left in our suite at the beginning of our stay. We would gladly stay again at the Bamboo Valley Inn.

Bamboo Valley Inn - Outstanding accomodations

Left on 01/20/2011 for a stay in January 2011

Bamboo Valley Inn has different suites. We booked two of them, one for my husband and myself and one for our son, daughter-in-law and their 4 month old baby. Vicki and Tom took time before we booked to help us sort out which of the accomodations would make the most sense for all of us. Booking a paying for our reservations was very easy. They promptly answered any questions we had before we arrived.
Upon arrival, both Vicki and Tom met us, showed us around, assisted with our luggage and helped us to get settled. They made sure we knew how to reach them if we needed anything.
The accomodations are both beautiful and comfortable. We had a fully stocked kitchen, a wonderful lanai, and quite luxurious furnishings. This is the nicest place my husband and I have ever stayed.
The location is convenient yet very private. You feel like you are alone in a bamboo forest, with pleny of birds to watch and listen to.
We liked everything and there really wasn't anything we did not like. In future trips to Maui, we will definitely plan to return to Bamboo Valley Inn.

Perfect! Sometimes you just need a rest. The jungle setting, the long driveway that set the place away from the road, the stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, fireplace, T.V., DVD & CD players, playing cards . . . this lovely retreat even had Q-tips in the bathroom! Outdoors we could sit & listen to the Mynah birds in the bamboo forest, BBQ or read in comfort. Clean, modern, yet very "island"in decor, all we could say, think & feel was "Ahhh!"

The Bamboo Valley Inn exceeded our expectations in every way. It was luxury that would have cost us $600-700 a night

Tom and Vicky made us feel like personal guests. We hope to return again.

      Great value in beautiful Haiku

Left on 08/22/2010 for a stay in August 2010

Our family of four spent a week in the Haleakala Suite. We loved Haiku. It is a bit off the beaten path, but close to Paia and Makawao. Haiku itself has a little shopping center with a market and some nice places to eat. Paia and Makawao also have restaurants and shops... and Baldwin Beach was an easy drive, with much more of a local scene. Snorkeling in Kihei and surfing lessons near Lahaina were only about 45 mins away.

I loved running in the mornings -- there was a great breeze, sometimes a misty rain with a beautiful rainbow. Hills, rural scenery (goats, etc.) and a view of the ocean. This is a much more interesting place to stay than the south shore beach area or western touristy part of the island.

And great great value for a family. We appreciated the washer and dryer and kitchen set up.

We had a really enjoyable 10-day vacataion with our two daughters at Bamboo Valley Inn. We stayed at the upper-level unit. It is spacious, richly and tastefully decorated, and extremely well equipped - from the furniture through the kitchen equipment to the large LCD TV screen. Having a separate bedroom for our daughters was really convenient, and the green sorounding was great for relaxation. The location is serene - there is only one other rental unit downstairs, and the architecture is such that the two are well isolated from another; the owners house is nearby and at the same time far enough not to disturb privacy. The place is only a few minutes drive to lively Paia, the north beaches and Kahului, and it is a great base for exploring the road to Hana and to the Haleakala summit. Vicki and Tom are so friendly, generous and helpful. Wish we could return often!

Bamboo View, Haiku: Great experience :-)

Left on 12/24/2009 for a stay in November 2009

We stayed two weeks at the Bamboo View Suite and had a really great time
there. The apartment was very well equipped, so we didn't miss anything.
Everything was brand new. If there was a little 'problem' (i.e. we could not
figure out how the TV worked), Tom & Vicky were there immediately to help
      yet did not impose.
Our children loved the horse and loved to give him little treats.

The apartment is surrounded by plants and you almost feel like in the
jungle: absolutely gorgeous and all you hear is nature.
Almost everything on the island is within short driving distance.
Baldwin beach is a 15 min drive from the apartment. The beach there is
great and offers something to everyone. There is even a protected area ideal
for little kids. The beach is not crowded at all. There is plenty of space
      anytime.

We highly recommend the apartment. It is ideal for everybody.
