The view from the lanai is spectacular.

We stayed the week of Christmas in the 1 bedroom unit of Jim and Sue's at Valley Isle Resort and had an awesome stay! This unit is oceanfront with a large lanai and lot's of living space. Our daughter and son-in-law and grandson rented another unit in the building and his parents rented another unit and ours was the best! It is so well stocked it was like being at home during Christmas.The unit had everything you needed to get together with family and have dinner together. We had get Bbq's at the pool area together and all the platters,utensils,cups,etc. came in handy.The other units didn't have all these supplies.The room also had extra beach chairs,boogie boards and beach toys for our grandson to play with.We really enjoyed making a sand castle with him and boogie boarding in the water. The beach at the resort is the nicest in the area.There is a grocery store across the street as well as a few restaurants you can walk to. Dolly's across the street is a good bar/restaurant.The resort is on the outskirts of Kaanapali and close to Lahaina.
We would definitely go back next time in Maui.

We have stayed in Unit 1009 many many times over the years, and it just seems to get better ever time we stay there. The owners take extreme pride in their units (they also have a studio in the same complex) and they maintain the units and truly make them your home away from home during your visit. The unit comes complete with everything you need for a Maui vacation...including boogie boards, hats, beach towels and more. The rates are so reasonable and again, the pride that the owners take in maintaining their units is evident. You will not find a better place to stay on Maui...ocean view, beach walks, views of Molokai and Lanai, whales, monk seals, turtles...it's truly the only place to stay when in Maui. We keep coming back year after year...it truly says Hawaii the minute you walk in the door. Don't stay anywhere else! This is the place to stay in Maui.

I couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received from the owners from the very beginning to booking to the completion of our stay. During our stay they contacted us to see how everything was going and after our stay. The condo is beautiful, well taken of and you could feel the love that comes with this condo...the views are beautifiul. This definitely deserves a 5 star rating.

My spouse and I have spent our past two vacations as guests of Jim & Sue. They are great hosts and Condo 1009 is the perfect place to stay. Paperwork and communications during the reservation phase are very helpful and professional. The condo has everything you will need for a short or extended stay. The location is perfect for all the "not to miss" activities and adventures while on the island. We are headed back in 2013!

#1009 was very comfortable and had everything we need. The unit is perfect for a family of four. The location is amazing. You can hear the waves crashing and watch whales from the lanai and turtles on the beach. So close to so many great beaches. We can't wait to come back!

The warmly welcomed feeling started already when arriving to this paradise resort. The home was at very optimal height in order to see the gorgeous view from the balcony and also through the window walls from the living room and kitchen. The view was really breath taking and something we will never forget including the pretty sunsets. And what a turtle spot this was! The condo unit was a very clean, throughout decorated and had everything that is needed for a wonderful vacation in paradise. The location of the condo was excellent and the amenities were just great. The tips & hints that Jim & Sue and all the visitors had written were very useful also. The best thing was the whole condo unit which was areal drem come true :)! We would definitely recommend this condo for a perfect paradise experience. We really had an amazingly unforgettable honeymoon in this beautiful condo. The greatest thanks for the owners Sue & Jim for letting us stay in your precious condo unit.

The Rum Pog experience is more my view point than my wife's but we both agree that our condo stay was superb. In the evening I would mix a rum and pog and sit on the lanai and watch the turtles and the ocean below. Absolutely a thrill to walk in the door for the first time and see all that blue. Occasionally get a drifting scent from the restaurant a block away and felt fortunate to do so as it was from Roy's. At first I was jealous of what I thought was a neighbor's cooking. Time it right and appetizers are half price at the bar at Roy's and the food is very good. We enjoyed the comfort of the condo very much and the decor was very pleasant. Stumbled on a good day in the water at the Lahaina Getty where there were some nice 3 foot waves for an old guy like me. Will be back some time but am going to Oahu next month. Had jim and sue's place been available I probably would be going to Maui.

This condo was by far the nicesest we have stayed in yet. It's cleanliness, maintenance, and personal touches is a testiment to the owners determination to maintain this unit at the higest standard of quality and comfort. The view was beautiful, epecially the beach below, the beautiful blue waters of the ocean, and the giant sea turtles swimming by daily. This was a perfect location to celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. The pool was very nice, not crowded, and very warm. The gardens and grounds were very well maintained and groomed. Walking the beach in the warm ocean water and breathing the warm breeze was very relaxing. The evening sunsets were incredible and deserve a special comment. Great view. Beautiful unit. Perfect location for all of West Maui's activities. Dollie's Pub across the street has improved and the Maui Brewing Company's taphouse in the strip mall down the street is not to be missed.

My wife and i took two of our grandchildren, girn cousins who just graduated from high school, to Maui as a treat for there hard work. We had researched the internet to find the perfect location, but were still a little apprehensive until we arrived. Wow this location was a1, the condo was magnificent,the vista was outstanding, the supplies were beyond belief and all the little extra's were amazing. I would go again in a heart beat, and we recommend sue & JIM without hesitation...

The condo & the view were extraordinary! We could see the whales out in the distance & the sea turtles feeding by the shore. Spent a lot of time on the lanai watching them. The bed was very comfortable - away from the ocean, but we liked that. Was great to have a TV in there also. The kitchen had everything we needed which allowed us to prepare a few of our own meals. Enjoyed the whole complex & surrounding area - felt very safe while we were there. Liked the view the best & there was nothing we liked the least - other than having to leave to come home! Jim & Sue were very accomodating for our late evening flight home!! Hoping to stay there again - for a longer period of time!!

The condo is very clean and also very well equipped. We had a great time and the condo is a great value when going to Maui. The room is oceanfront and the views are the best. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone. The only small thing is the units do not have a/c which is not that bad but it does get a little warm at times. They do have plenty of fans to keep it comfortable. This condo is truly a gem!!!

We found your home on Maui to be completely prepared with any utensils etc. that one might need. It was especially nice to have a washer/dryer in the condo since we stayed for quite a long time. The view from the lanai was spectacular with whale sightings, turtles, and views of Molokai and Lanai complete with sunsets.You even provided some Hawaiian music for our enjoyment and going to sleep each night with the sounds of the surf was wonderful. I appreciated access to internet since I needed to be in touch with my office even though I was on vacation and considering the amount of groceries, suitcases, etc. we brought, it was also very nice to have the carts and the elevator for convenience.
This is one of the best place I have stayed since beginning to visit Maui in 1993!
It was difficult to leave even after 4 weeks, and we look forward to spending time with your wonderful home in the future. -

We really enjoyed our stay. The surf was a bit rough until just before time to leave, which caused us a problem we hadn't expected -- the noise of waves (not gently lapping), but crashing on the shore was enough to keep one awake (because we had to keep doors open to help with air flow--it was over 80 degrees nearly always during our stay.--coming from much lower temps in the states, we weren't prepared to sweat while sleeping. The only recommendation we have is to offer a couple of floor-blowing fans or air conditioning.
It was very nice for the price. Thank you for furnishing spices and cooking utensils. Especially enjoyed what seemed to be a brand-new coffee maker (enjoyed the coffee grinder -- the only wy to go:-) too.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Maui condo unit 1009 rental during our recent visit to Maui. The unit perfectly met and exceeded our expectations. The condo was very clean and thoughtfully well appointed. Everything we could imagine needing for our stay, from pineapple cutters, beach equipment, washer and dryer, to board games, was available in the unit. The condo was on the 10th floor with a spectacular ocean view. We spent many hours on the lanai looking out toward the ocean and even watched giant sea turtles feeding in the water below us. The unit is oriented such that we could open the doors to the lanai and the bedroom and always have a pleasant breeze blowing through the unit accompanied by the wonderful sounds of the ocean. Despite no air conditioning, we were always comfortable.
This was my first experience with renting a condo while working directly with the owners. Working with Jim and Sue through the rental process was a real pleasure. They have a detailed thorough process that kept us informed, gave us all the information we needed, answered all our questions, and worked very smoothly. We plan to rent this same condo from Jim and Sue on our next visit to beautiful Maui!

Great place, loved it. I would update the couch however. The DVD player didn't work. I would also have a complimentary six pack of the locally brewed beer in the fridge for arrival. I got in at 10:00 PM and by the time I got my car rental and drove to the place, the beer and wine stores had shut off selling such items. A cold beer on the lanai at 11:00 PM would have been great on the first night.

As owners we did want to respond to a couple points that our guest made. The sofa, that he would chose to update, was new as of January 2010, so we feel this comment must be just a matter of personal taste in decorating.
Our guest had mentioned that he couldn't get the DVD player to work, so when we arrived 2 weeks later we were sure to check it out and it appeared to be working fine. We had no problem during our 6 week stay and have heard of no problems for any other guests.
As far as cold beer waiting......we'll warn our guests in the future that liquor stores close early, but that is about all we can legally do. (Although we personally agree that it would be a great amenity!) -

From the second that we booked this condo the experience was more than I expected. The owners were prompt with a response and gave me every detail that we would need for our stay. The condo exceeded my expectations and the pictures can't do it justice. It became a challenge to find something in the condo that they did not have. The kitchen is stocked better than my own kitchen :-) Jim and Sue kept in contact with us and let us know if there were any updates or changes. I was not anxious one bit, even though our flight had been delayed by several hours. The explicit directions helped us get checked into the condo without a hitch, as if we had been there numerous times before! We're going back this year even longer :-)

We stayed at this condo while we were in Maui for a beach wedding. We wanted a quiet place where we could relax and unwind. This condo at Valley Isle was perfect, and conveniently located between all the activities in Kapalua and Lahaina. The view was excellent, the beach was quiet, and we loved seeing giant sea turtles from our seats on the lanai. Could not have asked for a better place to stay!

As soon as you walk into the apartment...you have a 180 degree wonderful oceanfront view. It is so breathtaking. Our condo was comfortable, clean and very well equipped. We could find everything we need for making breakfast and sometimes dinner in the kitchen. The living room and bedroom were very nice decorated with local pictures, tropical flowers and little turtles (my favorite). The location was great and close to lots of restaurants, shopping centers and town of Lahaina. We intend to come back next year.

Condo 1009 was the perfect place to stay in Maui. Every single thing mentioned in the website actually was true... the condo has amazing views. My husband and I took morning and evening strolls by the beach, and it was just awesome!
The condo itself is quite spacious, very well decorated, nice furniture and what not! The kitchen was well equipped, there was absolutely nothing that I missed during my week's stay here..
If we had a chance, we would never hesitate to stay in 1009!!!

Valley Isle Resort Condo 1009 was everything we wanted. First, it is right on the ocean and the view is spectacular. You can enjoy a meal or a nice drink on the lanai and watch the waves, sunset, or I hear during whale season you get a front row seat. Such a romantic setting.
We visit Maui often and we give this condo one of the highest ratings we have ever given.
The kitchen has everything you need. It's beautiful with it's granite counters and upgrades.
My husband who is quite tall loved the bed. Many times when you travel the bed is either too hard or too soft - this was just right.
I loved that it had a free wireless connection as I had to bring some work along. So much easier to do work in shorts while looking out at the ocean.
Denny and I will be back to 1009 again. We would highly recommend it. -

If you are looking to be right on the ocean, full views and that's all that really matters this is the place to stay. The room was very clean and well taken care of but it has no air conditioning. The nights were very warm but there were multiple fans available. The kitchen is small but modern and fully equipped. There is access to a small outdoor pool and its location is easy to find but a little out of the way of the main hustle and bustle. Wonderfully relaxing.

When we first arrived at this condo we were impressed with the cleanliness of the unit. The kitchen was so well stocked ... everything from dishes, cutlery, pots and pans to paper products and spices. The unit is very spacious so you don't feel crowded. The swimming pool was wonderful, as was the beach. There is an internet cafe right on the premises which was great as we had not brought our own computer. The sunsets from the lanai were fabulous! We would certainly highly recommend this unit to anyone looking for a place to stay on Maui.

Our trip to Maui was wonderful, and a large part of that experience was due to the lovely condo we rented from Jim and Sue.
The condo came very well equiped--with everything from charming decor, a comfortable bed, and even a pineapple corer! It was so relaxing to sleep to the sound of the waves on the beach under our lanai. Having wifi in the condo helped us keep in touch with family on the mainland, despite the time difference. The trade winds provided a constant breeze, and with ceiling fans in the kitchen, living room, and bedroom we didn't miss not having air conditioning at all! -

We found the location of the resort to our satification and it was easy to find. The area was well maintain as was the building and the 1 bedroom Unit. We felt comfortable as soon as we walked through the doors it was very clean and the decor was beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the whales in the evening and talking walks around the area.
If your looking for a quiet get away Peter and I would absolutely would recommend this unit to anyone and we would come back. We also would recommend that you do rent a car as it is quite far from the airport and you do need one to get around the rest of the island. -

My hubby and I realy enjoyed our stay at Valley Isle.
We actually stayed in 2 different units because we couldn't get one for our whole time.
Both were fantastic, we enjoyed sleeping with the windows open and hearing the waves lull us to sleep every night.
Our only complaint was the pool area, not very desirable. We actually ended up using the one next door, at the inviting of another couple that were staying there.
Overall, we were very pleased with all the help and info. that Jim & Sue provided. I really loved the decor and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. -

What a pleasure our visit was to the Valley Isle Resort, #1009. We found not only the view breathtaking, but all the details in the condo that made it feel like a home away from home. The one bedroom comfortably fit our family of four. There was not an item we had wished was there that wasn't. We snorkled at many of the recommended spots, but actually saw some of the best fish right in front of the condo, not to mention several turtles. The pool was enjoyable, and the staff very helpful. A definate value for our money. We look forward to visiting again!
