Menehune Shores is uniquely situated adjacent to the historically important 16th century Alii (Royal) Fish Pond of Kalepolepo. Protected by offshore reefs, the Pond provides safe swimming for children and those wishing to avoid heavy surf. The Hawaiians still fish in the Pond, on occasion, using the old "throw net" method and occasionally use torches at night to attract the "aweoweo"!

Menehune Shores was a great location. Not far from the heart of Kihei. The complex is older but it is very clean and well-kept. Our stay is #401 was nice. It was well equipted and was very clean. The linens were super fresh and smell great! It had everything we needed. Rentals Maui made "checking in" very easy. The only negative is that the twin beds are very small and not very comfortable. They are fine for children but not for adults.
The beach are around the complex is rather rocky and very quiet. Greta to look at to relax but not really great for swim and play. -

The back bedroom is close to the road, so you will experience road noise from early morning to early evening. The unit is also beside a park, and we experienced generator noise from running the fan for a childrens birthday party bounce-er-ama inflatable as well as loud music on 2 days of our 9 day stay.

We were very pleased with our condo rental. The unit had everything you could ask for. The kitchen was fully equiped and they had everything you would need for the beach. It was very clean and nicely decorated. The only negative thing I could say was that it was a little noisey. It is the closest unit to the road and I am a light sleeper, other than that, it was great. We would stay there again.

Our experience was very good, just a little problem with the TV/Satelite but a phone call brought someone out to help us. We did have trouble after that and would suggest better instructions for future renters.

The unit itself was wonderful. It was comfortable and well appointed. The road noise was bad. We live in a very quiet neighborhood and this was a hard transition for us while on vacation. Also, the unit didn't get the direct sun until later in the evening. The resort is child friendly with the pool, a walking beach to one side and a smaller child beach on the other. We are staying at the resort again in Feb 2013 but on the ground floor and opposite side of the building that receives sunlight all day.

Would have given it a five star save for the street noise and limited view from the balcony. Loved the rooftop "patio" area and evening conch shell blowing at sunset. Unit had plenty of everything, but could have used a few more storage containers. Also not personally fond of the "bistro" dining table. Everyting else was great!

The stay in Maui was fantastic. We had a Wonderful stay in the condo. the place had everything we needed. I felt like I was staying in my own home. Five star all the way.....Great location and the grounds are top notch. WONDERFUL!!! Thanks You!!!!!!

This was a beautiful condo...exactly as pictured and described....great for families.....definatly need a car to get around though.....
