This worked well for us with 2 kids and 2 adults. The main space is a bit small, but everything is tidy and usable and the bed in the nook of the living area was great. Fridge and kitchen fine, beds comfortable and showering water was hot. The rooms were clean and bedding was adequate and so were the window blinds and curtains. We did not really need the heating or cooling. Gave us an extra air bed to use which also was great and new. It was quiet when we were there and easy to take our things in and out of the room. The laundry room was excellent and very clean and would be good if you had bikes. The front yard was nice. Could use a few touch ups in the kitchen, drawer liners and a few more kitchen tools, and also additional places to put and hang things in the bathroom such as towels and swimsuits. Needs a luggage/suitcase stand or two or three. The self check in was great. The hot tub was 102* a bit hot for the kids to use but clean and functional. Overall very pleased, it was private, quiet and seemed secure and in my opinion much better than a hotel on the main road. Would stay here again since now it is known and worked so well for us.
Great price for a great stay

Quiet Comfortable Condo

When we were looking to rent a place to stay in Moab this time around, we compared the place we stayed last time - a tiny cabin with no bathroom and an insufficient space heater to keep you "warm" - to a variety of other options. This condo won out since it was only about $8 more per night than the place we'd stayed last time, and heck, it had indoor plumbing and a real heater.
The reality of this condo, however, far exceeded my expectations. Not only did it have the amenities I have already mentioned, but it was cute and comfortable and in much better shape than most other rental properties I have ever stayed in. It didn't even have that funky smell that most rentals where people can cook have. The king bed was super comfy and the sofa and chair in the living room were perfect for hours of reading after a long hike. I liked that there was a kitchen where I could prepare meals, but there is one of those old electric stoves with the burners that tilt to the side, so it made cooking a little bit challenging at times. However, I was on vacation and not that keen to cook anyhow, so we ate a fair amount of pizza. The condos themselves are on a little side street away from the main drag, so the area they are in is pretty quiet, which was just perfect for us. We really loved staying here and will stay here again in the future.
During our stay, there was a plumbing issue with the sewer line that goes to the street that needed immediate attention since we couldn't flush the toilet. The property owner got it taken care of right away. In fact, I was really impressed by how quickly she got the plumber there. So, something that could have made our stay very unpleasant, was just a minor inconvenience, and you know, plumbing happens...
So, in short, if you want a great place to stay in Moab, this is a lovely, affordable choice. I have already recommended it to a couple of coworkers.

I've been staying at the Purple Sage twice a year for a number of years and it is a nice place to stay with my buddies for our semi-annual mountain bike riding trips. The units are always very clean and well kept up ... plus it's nice to have the kitchens for cooking a nice pre-ride breakfast. Also, the shaded front yard is a perfect place to relax after those long rides!
Very good experience

If we except the decoration which os very old fashioned and a little bit "sad", we had a wonderful stay.
Self check in very easy
The apartment was calm and full equipped
and very nice

I stayed 4 nights in this Condo of Moab.
Very quiet place.
Nice small garden but shared with other flats.
Jacuzzi too hot to be used.
I appreciated the difference with hotels : possibility to cook (there is a wonderful supermarket in Moab), to rest outside.
not so hot

I thought this place was kind of dumpy and grungy for the price we paid. I would have been happier spending the extra $20 for the night and staying in a motel. We left a night early and there was no chance of a refund for the night we didn't use.
I think ti looks nicer in the photos than it really is. Read more

Purple Sage offers a a good price and a good location. It is cheaper than a comparable hotel room and provides a kitchen and living room. \

My sister and our families shared two completely stocked units at the Purple Sage. We liked being right near downtown Moab. We had great accomodations to cooking and resting and even hot tubbing after long day hikes, mtn bike rides on trail and a river run. The access to the arches NP was great for sunset hike. Walking around town to shops and coffee and the oldest hamburger joint made for a very cozy feeling of home.

We had a fantastic time while in Utah. The many natural wonders in the area are fantastic. The house we stayed in was clean and easy to access. It was at the end of a very wide and well lit street. Not much traffic. The house was ready upon our arrival which was early evening. It was close to shopping & restaurants. I am pretty sure we visited all the parks in the area and hiked many miles. Fantastic vacation.
So enjoyed my first trip to Moab with my son and daughter!!

My son lives in CO and visits Moab at least 2-3 times per year; and always shares how much he loves the biking and climbing in the area. So, on a trip to CO my daughter and I decided to check the area out with him. We weren't disappointed!! The Purple Sage was very comfortable, clean, and quaint. We had dinner on the little yard area. We loved being close to arches and visited the park twice! He shared Slick Rock with us. Had a great time.
Comfortable, seamless process

Right in the middle of Moab, with easy access to the main drag. Quiet neighborhood and building. Pleasant staff at the rental office. They did a last minute juggling event so that my sister in law and her family could rent a similar property just a block away, and did it all just a few hours before check in. The only thing preventing a 5 star is the kind of funky and hard to understand (for an Easterner) cooling system, which involves some sort of sump system.

Centrally located so you can walk to Main Street. You are close to the shops and restaurants. Parking isn't a problem, and you are far enough off of Main to enjoy the peace and quiet. The condo had everything we needed. It was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the hot tub. Good for the price. Not upscale if that is what you are looking for. But really, how much time do you spend in your condo when you are in beautiful Moab? Check in/out is the easiest you can find. I like their process of checking in and out!
We'll be back!

We stayed at the Purple Sage for our annual girls hiking week. We try to spend as much time as possible in the canyons hiking so we loved the fact that we could bring all of our food with us and have a fully stocked kitchen to be able to head back to from a 12 hour day of hiking and not have to worry about fighting the crowds to go eat. The Purple Sage is far enough away from main street to be very quiet but close enough to walk if you want to go pick up some souvenirs or people watch. The place is old but it was very clean. Taking our own food helped to balance out the cost and we feel like we saved money. If you want room service and someone to come and clean your room every day your not going to get that here but that wasn't important to us. A very valuable personal item was accidently left behind and we recieved a phone call within an hour of leaving Moab which made it easy for us to return and retrieve the item (they did not have to do that! - very honest cleaning staff) If we ever plan another trip to arches and that end of Canyonlands we will be staying at the Purple Sage.
great romantic place for hearty fun
