- Only 3 miles to I-10 (off exit 38) and less than 8 miles from the Gulf of Mexico Beaches, in the city limits of Gulfport, you'll feels miles away from "hustle and bustle" but are only minutes to casinos, dining, shopping and so much more!

- Headed to the Gulf of Mexico from the house? You'll find it to be a breeze. Traveling mostly on a 4 lane road, with few lights and little traffic, you'll be on Beach Blvd. (Hwy. 90) before you know it... And if your stay is going to take you anywhere along the coast you'll be happy you've booked the Great Escape River House, its centrally located to the local Golf Courses and just miles from I-10 makes it easy to get to your destination quick! - Located on the Biloxi River, in a neighborhood that seems more like country than city, on a huge lot, from which the only occupied house you can see is one almost hidden behind some trees across the river. Relax, enjoy being with friends and family, there is no need to "herd" your group to town looking for fun... Its all here.... Its like you're at your own private resort! - Unlike many of the Vacation Rental located near the beach, you're sleep will not be disturbed by the constant blowing whistle of trains all night long. The trains run parallel to the Gulf of Mexico, mostly the entire length of Mississippi, only a couple of blocks from the beach through most towns, such as Gulfport.

To keep The Great Escape River House in the budget for smaller groups, the rates are based on 18 or less people. If your group is more than 18 people, you will pay a lil more, but your per person cost will be less.

ON THE RATES:

Posted rates are based on a few things:

1. 4 or more nights being booked over a weekend

(That said, you can inquire on as little as a 2 night stay; its quote, however, may not be at the posted rates)

2. No Check-ins or Check-outs on a Friday or Saturday

3. Your people count being accurate and should there be any Visitors (those not spending the night) that count is included in your People count

4. Compliance with Rental Agreement and House Rules

5. No Pets unless Pet is pre-approved, Pet Fee Paid, and Pet Policy agreed to. AS of this posting, Dogs have been the only permitted Pets to the Great Escape River House.

18 individual places to sleep counting the 2 twin folding beds and 4 twin beds. There are 12 Full to King size beds.

Not a crammed bunk house! This is 4500 square feet of places to spread out to! From the front porch to the rear porch, the 19 foot wet bar, hanging out on one of the sectionals or a sitting area in the Sleeper loft, with its own full bath (very convenient).

From the Passenger Elevator to the 2 continuous flow Hot Water Heaters, a lot of thought has gone into providing your large group with the perfect accommodations.

Your Great Escape River House, is not a 2000 sq.. ft house, awkwardly configured for over 20 people. This is 4500 sq. ft of luxury accommodations! Everyone under the same roof. Staying in separate hotels or condos is like herding cats with a big group. All described below and more, right in the City Limits of Gulfport, on the Biloxi River. It is truly 'The Great Escape River House!'

WATER FRONT

Many vacation homes imply they are waterfront, but no, you're gonna have to take a walk, cross a busy hwy. 90, just to get to the beach.

Both my Vacation Rentals are directly on the Biloxi River.

PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL

I'm shocked at how many vacation homes check off they have a pool, only to find they don't. That there is, for instance, a gym in their neighborhood that has a pool that allows outsiders to pay to use, that these owners are advertising as a pool accessible to their guests. Some count the Gulf of Mexico as their "pool."

Both my Vacation Rentals have PRIVATE swimming pools for (2 individual pools) for the sole use of the guests of each individual vacation home.

FLOOR PLAN

If flip key allows attachments to be sent, With every quote, I will send out that house's floor plan. No surprises. And no bunk beds built in closets... good heavens.

BUNK BEDS

The bunk beds of both my houses are FULL over FULL bunk beds.... and individual full size beds that designed to be stacked on top of each other for an extremely comfortable nights sleep. These are not the awkward $200 framed kiddie beds, but rather the $1600 high end meant to have a 200+ lb full grown golfer feel at easy.

.... AT MY RIVER HOUSES...

You are most likely to hear crickets, river and wood sounds...or things like owls. As both are newly constructed, as of 2008, they are pretty sound proof. As for locations, less than 8 miles from the Gulf of Mexico Beaches. Less than 3 miles from I-10.

I believe the Great Escape River House is the only private residential Vacation Home ever featured.

IS THE GREAT ESCAPE RIVER HOUSE KID FRIENDLY?

Yes! We like a good proportionate # of kids to adults, especially if teenagers are in the kids count. For little ones, we've got some safety gates. We do not have infant/toddler supplies such as high chairs, cribs, or changing tables. Guests traveling with wee-ones, will need to bring these items with them. Some of our past guests with small children have even committed they find the house more child safe than their own.

SLEEPING:

With most inquiries, a PDF of the house's Floor Plan is sent.... If Flipkey allows attachments with quotes. This will help you decide if the layout will work for your group.

There are 18 individual places to sleep:

- 1 King (Master)

- 6 Full (3 bunk beds - full over full - in 2 bedrooms)

- 5 Queen (2 in private bed rooms /3 in Sleeper loft)

- 2 twin folding beds

- 2 twin day beds (in Sleeper Loft)

- 2 twin trundles in each of the day beds

The beds described above are also not placed awkwardly close to each other. The entire house, including the sleeping areas, has a spacious feel. Most sleeping areas have TV's and these TV's are equipped with antenna's, while TV's in main areas of house have DirectTV.

With only 1 person in each of the top bunks, 1 in each of the twin day beds, and 1 in each of its trundle beds, & 1 in each of the twin folding beds (allowing for 9 people to sleep solo), and double occupancy in each of the other spots to sleep, the house can accommodate 27 people in Queen, King, and bottom Full bunk beds.

18 people could each have their own bed to sleep on. To keep rates affordable for smaller groups, rates are based on 18 people. While the cost will go up as your people count increases, the per person cost will drop... Making this a very affordable option for the larger groups and still being an affordable option for the smaller size groups.

B A T H R O O M S:

N E V E R R U N O U T O F H O T W A T E R !

2 large, Continuous Gas Water Heaters, will provide your large group with the convenience of taking shower after shower, with no need to wait for the tank to heat up.

The 4 full baths are also well distributed. There is even a toilet closet on the covered outside deck, conveniently located near the hot tub and within easy use of anyone leaving the pool area.

----THE LOFT (full bathroom)

has a full bathroom with large 5 foot shower. This area sleeps a maximum of 10 people.

----2 BUNK BED ROOMS (full bathroom)

The 6 full size beds (the 3 bunk beds) are in 2 adjacent bedrooms, with their own full bath. This bathroom has a large garden tub/shower. Perfect soaking, piling the wee-ones in, or for a quick shower with lots of elbow room.

----2 BEDROOMS OFF THE HALL (full bathroom)

The 2 bedrooms off the hall, each with queen beds, share the hall full bath. It has a 5 foot walk-in shower.

----MASTER BEDROOM (full bathroom plus)

The master bedroom's bathroom, which has a private entrance from the master bedroom, also offers a 2nd entrance to the bathroom through the laundry room. This gives more options for bathing to large groups. The Master bathroom has a garden tub, double vanity, and separate 5 foot shower.

PETS?

We will allow pre-approved pets, with a higher refundable damage deposit and nonrefundable Pet fee. Dogs are the only Pets that have ever been permitted. 1 Dog, under 20 lb., with paid Pet Fee and agreement to follow Pet Policy, is automatically pre-approved. A larger dog, multiple dogs, or a pet other than a dog, will need pre-approval.

While not right next door, the River Lookout, is within easy walking distance and can sleep up to 16 people.
