"Sunset" is a deeply romantic getaway and serene year-round destination for writers, artists, nature lovers and all who appreciate the beauty and gentle pleasures of a quiet Adirondack lake. "Sunset" is named for its western views from every room and three levels of sunny, furnished decks. It accommodates six, with a queen master bedroom, queen sleeping loft and queen living room sleeper-sofa, and is particularly suitable for adults and older children.

"Sunset" is an ideal base camp for OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES IN EVERY SEASON. Swim, fish and boat from our deep, clear water-front. Hike or mountain bike on nearby trails leading to lakes, fishing streams and mountaintops. Several golf courses, and spectator sports including motocross, NASCAR and horseracing, are within easy distance. In winter, "Sunset" comes with three sets of traditional snowshoes and poles for trekking frozen Pleasant Lake. Downhill and cross-country skiing, ice-skating, ice-fishing and miles of Adirondack wilderness trails for hiking and snowmobiling are all within minutes.
With no commercial facilities and few year-round cottages, Pleasant Lake feels peacefully remote; yet necessities are available nearby. A local roadhouse serves delicious food three minutes away. Convenience stores, gas, restaurants, bars, espresso and the Sunday NY "Times" are within five miles; all the services of a city are within 20. In a region bountiful with natural beauty, historic sites, museums, antiquing, music venues and family fun, daytrip destinations include Saratoga Springs, Cooperstown, Lake George, and the Albany Capital Region.
"Sunset" is centrally located at the southern rim of the Adirondack Park, just a four hour drive from Boston, Montreal, Buffalo and New York, 80 minutes from Albany International Airport.
"Sunset" accommodates a maximum of 6 guests at all times. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Sunset has a NO SHOES policy: bring slippers or flip-flops for indoor use.

My sister & I stayed at Sunset cottage this past weekend. We were looking for a sister retreat to get some time alone, no husbands, kids or distractions. We enjoy each others company so much but only get to see each other about once a year. When we do visit it's usually jam packed with all kinds of obligations to other people. It seems we never have time alone to just "be". Sunset was the perfect solution! We both drove approximatly 4hrs and "ooohed" & "awwwed" at this beautiful hidden treasure! It is impeccably decorated & has everything you might have forgotten to pack. We have made a promise to each other that we will make this an anual event! Thank you to aimee for making everything so easy :)

Everything about our stay at Sunset was amazing. The whimsical decor and thoughtful touches made for a very comfortable stay. We loved the master bedroom with lake view, with the bed made of birch branches and adorned with strings of white lights. The loft was a fun place for our boys to stay and have a place of their own. Finally, watching the glorious sunsets and star-filled skies from the dock ended every day with wonder!

My family of four really enjoyed this place! It's clean and comfortable, and beautifully decorated. None of us could decide which bedroom we liked better, the one with the beautiful bed and the twinkle lights, or the cool loft. We enjoyed having the multi-level deck leading down to the water, and of course constant access to the lake. If there were other people around, we didn't hear them -- it was nice and peaceful here. Oh, and the outdoor shower was a big hit, too! This was a great place to get away from the stresses of home and work, unplug, and just relax.

Sunset is our favorite vacation haven. It sits lakefront nestled among glorious varied pine trees. Whether you are resting luxuriously on the queen sized lake view bed, reading by the vast window that also looks out upon the lake or playing on the lake, swimming, boating, fishing or sunning on your favorite float this is a glorious all seasonal home away from home. The decks are spacious and provide shaded respite as well as full sun. The owners have created a very special place. The kitchen is beautiful with every need you could imagine foreseen.
The area is easily accessible to antiquing, leaf watching and local towns of diverse interest are nearby. This is the best of the adirondacks! We have no children so we love to come in Spring and Fall. Some of our happiest memories are nestled at Sunset. Come listen to the magical call of the resident Loons and watch the hummingbirds that call this area home. A great Fall foliage romantic getaway! Cottage is quaint and cozy. Decks allow you to enjoy the sunsets on the lake which are lovely. Cottage has everything you need. Plan to bring some groceries with you if arriving late as you have to travel a bit to get to major supermarket. There is a local store just down the road that has a great variety of groceries. That was the purpose of going there... to be away from it all. Owners are quick to respond to emails and easy to do business with. We are looking to return again in the Fall.
