We stayed a week in Peggy's unit, my husband, 5-year old son, and I. The location was perfect for our morning beach habit (short drive to some of the big island's best beaches---Hapuna, A-Bay, etc.), and the beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas) were much appreciated. Also, we cooked breakfast and dinner most days, and the kitchen every convenience. My 5-year old loved the pool, which is beautifully designed and suitable for grownups and smaller children. This unit in particular is well located within the resort, all the way at the end, very close to the pool, and very quiet. We highly recommend it.

Making reservations with Peggy was so easy and efficient. Renting from Peggy is great; all you have to do is pack a few clothes and fly to the Big Island. She has thought of everything and it's all there waiting to be used--beach chairs, boogie boards, beachbags, coolers, books, games, Dvd's, Cd's, beer and water in the refrigerator, and even reusuable shopping bags (Hawaii is very green and they charge for grocery bags at both grocery stores and farmers' markets). The condo was convenient to restaurants, beaches, sightseeing activities, historical sites, Hawaiian cultural events, and shopping. After being tourists we enjoyed just sitting on our lanai and watching the whales!! Another highlight of staying in Peggy's condo is that all resort and cleaning fees are included in her daily price. Peggy also supplies a DCI card which is good for 10-25% discounts at various restaurants in Waikoloa, Kohala, Waimea, Kona, Hilo, and other towns on the island. If you eat out often, this card will provide savings during your stay. Peggy, we thank you for providing a fantastic condo for our stay on the Big Island. We are coming back in February, 2014.

Well the whales did not show up this time but if they did, we had a front row lanai to watch them from. The sunsets are great to watch from the lanai or take a 1 minute walk to the gorgeous pool/bar&grill.; Peggy takes great pride in owning this unit. She says that she is there for you 24/7 and I truly believe that she is. This unit is beautiful and is exceptionally clean with tile through out. It comes equipped with many extras - Blue Ray, movies, snorkel and boogie boards, board games, cappuccino maker,and the list goes on. You can save so much money having the use of all that comes with this unit (for all ages). Halii Kai is always well maintained and very quaint. This was our sixth time visiting and hope to keep up our tradition.

The owner was in residence in one of her other units at the time of our visit and she was a gracious and generous hostess.She aims to please and seems to love what she does because it is over the top.The unit was fabulous, the amenities extraordinary and the weather in this location is superlative, I will book for next year and extend my stay, if it could I would take up permanent residence in flip flop country.

This is one of the best experience we had in renting through Vrbo. Since the moment we inquired about this place until the end of our vacation, Peggy provided us with all the information we were looking for in a timely manner. The condo exceeding our expectations. What you see is what you get. When we arrived we had already coffee, beers and water in the fridge to start our vacation with. This place is really a piece of paradise and you feel at home. The front ocean view is great, you can sit in the lanai and watch the sunset or the dolphins playing. The condo had every amenity we could have asked for, including 3 types of coffee machines. Everything is High End and very clean. With the condo we had also access to the Ocean Club for the gym and the pool which was perfect. We spent 10 wonderful days at this condo and I would definitely highly recommend this property. Peggy knows really how to treat her guests and she is a great host. We are already thinking about our next vacation and renting from her again another condo she has elsewhere.

I have stayed at many condos over the years and this was by far the nicest. I will be the first to admit I am kind of picky about things and I am a little hard to please at times. The owner of this condo far exceeded my expectations. The place was clean and kept up very well and the amenities that she provided were above and beyond 3 types of coffee makers (and coffee). Beach chairs, Umbrellas, Coolers, Boogie boards, a printer, a computer, nice Tv's, and much much more. You get the point. I am actually considering a vacation to some of the other places she has condos because I know they will be just as nice. Peggy the owner was also very professional and she answers her phone and responds to emails in a timely manner.

We absolutely loved everything about Peggy's condo. She spared no expence with all the adminities. The "activities closet" was awesome, anything you would ever need to compelete your vacation. From beach towels, chairs, umbrella, ice chest, snorkel gear, toys, movies, and much much more. All the accessories you can choose from make's you look at little more like a "local".
The condo was comfortable & spacious. We spent most days cooking in the condo and grilling on the patio watching the sunset.
The pool is steps away from the condo. Which made walking with our 18 month old really easy. Our little guy love the pool. The shallow end is only 1 1/2 feet deep. Which makes its nice for toddlers that love to swim.
We also rented Peggy's Rav-4 during our stay. The Rav-4 was very clean & easy to drive.
Peggy's attention to detail shows from the first step into the condo. She was very easy to communicate with via email or phone. We are already planning our next trip back, this time we will bring a nanny for the little guy. :) -

This condo is absolutely gorgeous. It is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. My two year old really enjoyed the toys and Dvds on hand in the unit. The lanai was fabulous (BBQ and wet bar) and we enjoyed the sunsets, whales, and geckos every day. The kitchen has everything you will need, the bathrooms have a surplus of towels, and access to the owner's computure and wireless internet was a great perk. The pool area was great for us. We swam while my 60+ parents sipped their drinks and enjoyed the views. The gym was also an unexpected treat. It is directly in front of the ocean. Lots to look at in the morning if you don't want to jog around the complex. Peggy was amazing and she was always available to answer questions (we had a few with regard to the entertainment system). The condo is a very easy walk along the ocean to the Hilton, which has an amzing array of activities for kids and adults alike.

We really enjoyed our stay, the condo met our expectations and we would stay again. The unit is very well stocked with kitchen items, towels and beach and recreation items. It is also one of only three complexes that are ocean front. We enjoyed the amazing sunsets from the patio. The lounge area outside the pool was a great feature as well with good food at a reasonable price and really nice staff. Peggy was very pleasant to deal with and we were also appreciative of being able to stay at the complex until our evening flight. The propoerty is an excellent location for the Lavaman Triathlon.

This was a very nice condo in excellant condition. The complex was beautiful and well maintained. Condo had all everything we needed, just needed to bring clothes. We were able to watch whales everyday from the lani. Location was good- north of Kona, but everything we needed was close. Rented a car that the owners keep at the condo, which was also in good shape. Would stay again.

We arrived on the Halii Kai property in the evening, and we got to see the beautiful landscaping the next morning. The condo looked lovely and was very clean.
We liked the location of this two bedroom condo overlooking the ocean. The floor plan of the unit was well suited for us.
The amenities at the condo were second to none, including toll free telephone calls to North america, a computer,secured wireless internet access, high definition TVs in the front room and each of the two bedrooms and a well furnished kitchen and bedrooms.
We found the condo owner to be very accommodating and easy to deal with.
We rented the condo owner's RaV 4 which we picked up at the airport, and it simplified our arrival in the evening.
We had to aggressively clean the BBQ grill, which was not cleaned by the previous renters. This was the only disappointing thing to us. -

This condo was perfect for us as an older couple, but it would accommodate 2 couples or a family of 4 very well. It was beautifully furnished and stocked with just about anything you would desire---games, beach and picnic things, and any electronic equipment you can imagine. We have visited Hawaii many times and no longer do all the activities and sightseeing most people do. We were happy luxuriating in the splendid apartment with its own private ocean unfolding like a movie in front of us. We were there 16 nights and I did not want to leave.

Peggy's condo was fully equipped with nothing forgotten down to the last detail of binoculars and beach bags. It was the perfect size condo and had a fabulous view of the ocean. We barbequed on the patio at least 4 times and enjoyed sunsets every evening. The pool is spectacular and we would have it to ourselves every morning. Really a beautiful, peaceful, perfect condo.

Whatever you do Do Not Pass By This Condo!!! What makes this unit so special are the many thoughful touches the owners have provided. There is absolutely nothing you need to bring except your clothes. The pictures are excellent but when you open the door the view and the condo will take your breath away. The location within Halii Kai is excellent you are almost right next door to the stunning pool and exercise area. Peggy has outfitted the unit with top notch cookware utensils linens electronics and accessories. The property was in perfect condition and immaculately clean. Peggy and Doug were always available by phone or email. I have stayed on The Big Island many times but this has absolutely been the very place I've stayed.
Make sure you ask Peggy about the Rav-4 that is also available great pricing and much nicer than the rentals you normally get.

My wife, two boys (ages 7 and 4), and I spent 4 days at Peggy's condo on the Big Island. The unit is everything you would expect of an oceanfront unit at Halii Kai - great location, gourmet appliances, premium furnishings, high-end aV setup. What makes this unit special are the extras. In the kitchen, we have never seen a rental unit with such a wide array of pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, glassware, plasticware, coffeemakers (3), and the list goes on. The bedrooms were well appointed and the beds were firm but quite comfortable. My wife fell in love with the bathroom towels, some of the softest, plushest towels we have ever used. Sony flat screen TVs and Bluray players in the living room and both bedrooms, along with a selection of Dvds. We were able to quickly and easily connect our personal laptops to the provided WiFi network and a wireless printer is available. Closetful of goodies for both indoor (educational games for kids a bonus) and outdoor (boogie boards, 4 beach chairs, 2 parasols, Frisbees, snorkeling gear, beach towels, and more!). We added beach toy set (pail, shovel) for the kids and some beach bags to help lug everything around. Another item to note is that all of the everyday necessities are provided and well stocked - toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, ziplocs, detergent, fabric softener - everything. We did have two issues during our stay: the first was the aC unit, specifically the motion sensor - if anything the unit is too efficient. I believe this issue has been resolved. The second issue we had was the door code (no fault of the owner) - be sure to write down the code (including special characters such as the "#” key) and take it with you along with the phone numbers for both Peggy and her local contact - just in case. Peggy was a pleasure to deal with and was always responsive with any email or phone call. Overall, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting the Big Island.
