“Execellent and affordable place to stay in Kona.” We have stayed here five times in past seven years. It is definitely our favorite place to stay in Kona. We have visited every Hawaiian island except Lanai. The Big Island is our favorite and the Kona Makai is a wonderful, beautiful, quite and relaxing place to stay. Grills are located on the ocean front. Excellent sunsets with the occasional "green flash." Walk to town, restaurants, church, numerous beaches and stores. We highly recommend it to family and friends.

“Some patina but well maintained and great location” The property is old (as we knew from the description) but in very good condition. We would suggest to add a water boiler since the antique stove is slow and inconvenient. But this is a minor issue, altogether the property is very nice, spacious, in good condition, we would definitely use it again and recommend it to others. Particularly the pool is just great - large and deep, made for diving.

“Great Location” We very much enjoyed our 6 nights in this condo, from morning breakfast on the balcony to watching the sunset. Location is superb - there are 2 beaches within walking distance and you can walk up a short hill to a great espresso and creperie shop. We will stay here again.

“Amazing place!” We loved our stay at the Banyan Tree Condos. The highlight is, without a doubt, having breakfast on the deck watching the waves and the surfers. This condo has everything you'd possibly need for your stay and I highly recommend it. Next time we're on the Big Island, this is definitely where we'll be staying!

“great location and views” awesome location, views, and accommodations. book early because from that calendar on the owners link it fills up fast. just an fyi when you arrive there is underground parking that i have noticed people don't realize. as in any vrbo please leave some pass it forward things. i left some spices, boggie board and a large fan. aloha.

“Beautiful Paradise” This immaculate well maintained condo came equipped with everything needed to snorkel, body board, picnic or just rest by the ocean. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. The condo grounds, pool area, hot tub and barbecue were very well maintained. The office staff, Kitty , welcomed us when we checked in and represented the condo owners with courtesy and kindness. The owners provided us with locations of stores to purchase groceries or whatever needed. Their personal touches on their condo made us feel like we were at home.

“#317 needs help” Over all thhe place was clean. But the tile floors need to be steam cleaned they are very DIRTY my feet on the bottom looked like I had been walking in mud from the first day on.

“sitting on the huge lanai on the ocean listening to the waves crash was wonderful” Kim of Keauhou Property Management impressed me the most. He answered my calls and questions promptly. When we left as did not need 2 bedroom and moved to another rental it was awful, Called Kim and he managed to find me a couple of rentals that covered our stay. He is my hero and highly recommend him and his company for their GREAT customer service. The property was great too, nice amenities and prefer this area now verses up the road closer to the hustle bustle but close enough to go.

“A Trip of a Lifetime!!!” Our first time to the Big Island and this Cabin defintely helped to make it a trip of a life time! The cabin was wonderfully decorated. It was very clean, plenty of room and defintely put a nice warm feel in place of a bland typical hotel room. The property is very secluded and surrounded by beautiful plants and trees. The pictures that are shown here are exactly what you will find and more. The location is perfect and only a short drive from beaches and airport. Caroline and Scott are wonderful people who put their love and personality into into cabin. This isnt just a "rental" property for them. They are very warm and friendly. The beach chairs were fantastic! We got engaged our last night in Kona. We know exactly where to come for an anniversary trip!!! This place is an incredible value and an absolute must stay!! “Absolutely adorable!” After enduring two weeks of construction noise from the condo above us during our stay in downtown Kona, we decided to hunt for a more private place to stay in for our future visits. Caroline and her husband were nice enough to allow us to take a peek at the cottage and we were so impressed that I had to write a review! It is located in the hills about 10 minutes above the town of Kona, and the surrounds are lush and private. This is a stand-alone cottage and no other buildings are visible from anywhere on the property! The cottage is just as cute as it looks in the photos, and there are beautiful garden views from the front porch and the backyard. Everything is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is well-stocked; internet and satellite tv are provided. This is a place to truly get some rest and relaxation after being out and about during the day. Note that the temperatures are cooler here and this cottage is not in the heart of the action, so you will need a car! The owners are very friendly and live elsewhere on the property. They also have another cottage for rent behind there home. We hope to enjoy a stay at their place in the future!

“Perfect little hide away” Janet was super accommodating during our stay. The access to bikes, snorkel gear and an outdoor hose off was great! We rented scooters and found the location to be perfect for both the White Sands Beach and the snorkeling beach. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for letting us have a late check out too! Saved us the hassle of sweating in the heat waiting for our shuttle!

“Kona Makai” Unit was acceptable, very nice location. Condos were very quiet and all non-smoking; a bonus. Interior is fairly basic, a bit dated. There are no special amenities; you have to buy everything you need. For example, there was a washer and dryer but no laundry detergent or dryer sheets, so I had to buy boxes of each to use these once. Other units in Kona have more complete supplies, snorkels, beach towels, beach chairs, etc. Overall is was OK, but not great.
