Description
Villa Daphne enjoys an outstanding position, just 3 minutes walk down a private path, through mature gardens, to the crystal clear sea. The villa's design ensures privacy and stunning sea views that can be enjoyed by the residents from all interior and exterior areas.
A large, heated, salt-water swimming pool compliments the villa and the surrounding lush gardens filled with endemic plants, flowers and fruit trees lead to two shaded large pergolas, a stone BBQ and a private path to the sea.
The villa interior comprises of fully equipped kitchen and living room and one large en suite bedroom on the ground floor. Three more bedrooms, all en suite, are located on the first floor, each with their own large balcony. On the lower ground floor there is a sauna, hamam and steam/jet shower, a small gym and utility area, leading out to lawned gardens.
On this floor, an annexe with independent entrance, comprising of one en suite bedroom, and a small kitchen, can be rented at a supplement and only along with the main villa, to accommodate larger groups of friends or family.
Villa Daphne is licensed for holiday rentals with the Greek Tourist Authorities (EOT).

“Lovely aspect but tired and overpriced”
On the face of it this is a great villa - the aspect is stunning - a view to die for which was a joy to wake up to every morning. And lovely to be able to swim in the sea using the direct access from the villa. We actually swam from the villa to the nearest beach (Loutraki) for lunch one day! Other bright spots are the owner, who is a lovely man who is helpful and kind and brings you lovely treats/delicacies which was much appreciated. He is clearly very proud of his properties. Cleaning is also good - around 2-3 times per week and very comprehensive. Also nice to have 2x BBQs - one by the house (gas) and one communal BBQ by the sea (traditional) - a few mins (steep) walk from villa. Kitchen is well maintained with decent equipment and modern appliances etc and a nice touch is a welcome pack of fresh fruits, coffee tea water etc So why three stars? For me it comes down to price - it’s expensive to stay here given the fact that many of the facilities have been provided to “tick a box” - for example, the fitness equipment doesn’t work, there was only one proper kayak and that sank due to a leak (the other was a half inflated Decathlon effort), and the boiler in the basement clanked all night which kept us awake in the downstairs bedroom and was not fixed even after I complained on the second day. The pool is apparently heated but in my opinion too cold to swim in October. Apparently it was on full heat setting and I was charged extra but hardly could use it. The living room is OK but the furnishings are not commensurate with a property of this cost or size - despite having x4 bedrooms, there is just one sofa and one armchair only. So it is an average villa on an amazing plot in a decent location - Marathi beach is just 2km away and is a special place. Chania just 20mins drive etc Hope this is helpful.
