Description
Pebble Cottage is a traditional, historically preserved, stone fisherman's cottage in Cellardyke, located on the Fife Coastal path and within 200 meters of the local village restaurant, small harbour, swing park, and outdoor sports centre. The cottage is in Cellardyke a quaint little fishing village adjoining Anstruther where you will find numerous, well-established restaurants, tea shops, gift shops, and harbour marina. There are a few small beaches in the area and many nearby in adjoining East Neuk villages. There is ample free on street parking outside the property.
Pebble cottage has a fabulous tranquil garden with two patio areas and a summerhouse situated at the top of the terraced garden that affords stunning views of part of the East Neuk Fife Coastline. The garden really is a wonderful place to chill on a summers evening (or any time really) with a glass in Hand!
The cottage, which is renovated and modernised to a high standard spans over 3 floors, the ground floor which is open plan boasts a great fireplace built into the sitting room wall (we supply a starter pack for burning). We have a smart tv located in the sitting area also. The open plan kitchen has everything needed to rustle up a hearty meal or maybe just to sit down and enjoy a fish supper at the dining table… the local area is renowned for its fresh seafood and award-winning chippies! We also have a wine cooler located in the kitchen area, so you are always suitably refreshed!
We have 3 good sized bedrooms; 2 bedrooms are located on the 1st floor and a large shower room. The primary bedroom is on the 2nd floor which has its own ensuite facilities.
The property is ideally located for those wishing to explore the historical coastal villages, a bit of wild swimming, rambling or just taking in the stunning scenery this part of the world has to offer. We also have an abundance of arts and crafts in and around the area with many art festivals throughout the yearly calendar. Golfers are spoilt for choice with the local courses, all within easy driving distance and most golfers Holy Grail the “Home of Golf” which is of course “St Andrews” only 10 miles away and a 20 minute car ride. The cottage is in Cellardyke a quaint little fishing village adjoining Anstruther where you will find numerous, well-established restaurants, tea shops, gift shops, and harbour marina. There are lots of small beaches in the area and many nearby in adjoining East Neuk villages. The nearest airport is Edinburgh 47 miles, the nearest train station is Leuchars 16 miles. Edinburgh can be visited as a day trip. A Car is recommended to maximise your time in the region.
Please note that the King size bed can be made into two single beds if required.

“Fabulous stay at Pebble Cottage”
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Pebble Cottage. The house was lovely and had everything we needed, perfect for 4 adults, a teenager and two dogs. The deck and summer house at the top of the garden have the most spectacular views out to the Isle of May and beyond. This was our favourite spot in the house, we even saw some dolphins. We had a wonderful time and it was the perfect base to explore the Fife coastal path. We also enjoyed axe throwing and paddle boarding just along the road. A perfect escape that we wish we didn’t have to come home from.

Response from the owner Thank you for taking the time to provide a review, I am disappointed that the basic items weren't available as it was part off the contract that I held with our previous cleaning company to provide these items and I was paying for this service. We now have a new cleaning company so basic item starter set is provided. We have a gardener who is undertaking renovation off an area after a tree had to be removed for safety reasons, the will be completed soon, and doesn't interfere with the general use off the garden.

We are a family of 6 adults and we cook often in the house given the frequency off our visits to the area. I suppose its down to what one is used too. During permitted letting Covid periods, I accommodated anyone who was effected to re arrange dates at no financial loss to themselves, albeit at a cost to myself as some cancellations were done at short notice irrespective to the fact that my overheads remained, and this was unnecessary given the terms off my contract with guests. With regard to logs a starter pack is provided and guests are made aware off this, obviously not all guests would use the same quantity of logs during a stay and it is unmanageable to be either charge fairly for this or provide at my expense an unlimited quantity. The house has central heating and an additional electric fire also.
