Description
Riverbank Cottage is one of a row of traditional longhouse cottages situated on the edge of the small village of Capel Curig in a quiet, secluded spot. It is a compact cottage with an open plan kitchen / lounge / diner with a fitted kitchen and a multifuel stove in an inglenook fireplace. There is a small shower room with double shower cubicle, toilet and basin and two bedrooms, the master has a four poster bed with delightful views of the river Llugwy running along the bottom of the garden. A small conservatory lends practical space for hanging wet / muddy kit and a washing machine plus small dishwasher. Bookings are usually taken around a FRIDAY turnaround day (whilst short stay bookings are welcome to start any day they would not usually run over a Friday)
A few minutes walk away from the cottage there is a specialist outdoor shop, along with a pubs 15 mins walk and footpaths galore into the surrounding hills and valleys. Just down the road is the Welsh National Mountain centre of Plas-y-Brenin with its public bar serving bar food, indoor climbing wall, pool and other facilities. There is a stunning public lake popular for paddlesports and outdoor swimming. This all provides an excellent location for touring, relaxing, hill walking, rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, mountain biking and other adventurous activities. Arguably the best location, from which to explore Snowdonia.

“Perfect Little Cottage”
Clean, comfortable, compact. Warm shower, central heating and multi fuel burner. Location great for getting to Snowdon, Betsy Coed.

“Lovely cottage in lovely area”
Cottage small but lovely 3 pubs in walking distance BUT no shop so take a few supplies. Lots of walks from door and loads of fab places by car . Besty coed being nearest,nice food at stables pub , dog friendly . Catch train up to snowdon from Llanberis but hope yours don’t get cancelled like ours booked it for last day .

“Riverbank Cottage, Capel Curig”
Absolutely the best few days at Riverbank Cottage. Really cosy little base from which to explore Snowdon from every which way (basically hiked up to the summit 3 times during my stay using different paths each time). Finished each day with a cold pint at the very friendly and welcoming bar at the Plas y Brenin activity centre overlooking stunning views which is a mere 5 minute walk from the cottage. The host, Jasmine, was responsive and helpful throughout. The cottage was clean, warm, cosy and had everything you could possibly need. Loved it so much there’s a good chance I’ll be back for more. Can’t recommend it enough. Thank you Jasmine.
