Description

Summerhill Cottage (Bron Haul) is a terraced Quarryman's cottage dating back to 1880. The cottage is perched high above Blaenau Ffestiniog in the aptly named Summerhill area, in a quiet residential road, with stunning views over the mountains and surrounding countryside but only five minutes walk from all its amenities.

The cottage is centrally heated and consists of a lounge/kitchen/ diner, double bedroom, bathroom and utility room. The kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. There is a dining table with three chairs and the lounge has a comfy sofa and chair. The cottage is equipped with a Freesat TV with a DVD player and a small library of DVD's, some books and games. Free WiFi is available. There is also a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there is a roomy double bedroom with stunning views from the window. The bathroom consists of a bath with overhead electric Mira shower. Bed linen and towels are provided and gas/electricity are included in the price.

Outside, to the rear, there is a pretty terraced garden with table and chairs and BBQ and also a front garden with bench. There are steep steps to the front door and the rear garden.

There are mountain walks straight from the doorstep and plenty of other walks nearby including the lovely walk from Tanygrisiau up to Cwmorthin, the derelict mining village in the mountains complete with a beautiful fishing lake. The Ffestiniog Railway, Zip World Titan, Zip World Caverns, Bounce Below and the Llechwydd Slate Mines are all within walking distance from the cottage. A short drive away is the fabulous Black Rock Sands and Snowdon, Betwys- Y- Coed and Portmeirion are an easy drive away.

The town ,itself, has a good size supermarket and other handy shops. There is an excellent Indian restaurant, a good chippy and a Chinese takeaway. There are also several cafes and coffee shops. For more attractions and places to eat visit Facebook and search for Bron Haul - Welsh Holiday Cottage.

Allergies - Please note, the cottage is occasionally used by dogs. Also there are feather duvets and pillows.

No smoking policy. Parking usually available roadside or about 50 yards away. No problem parking outside the cottage to unload.

This place is not worth £10 a nightp especially for allergy sufferers like us coz this cottage smells of Mold covered in white paint, dog smell/hair. Worst experience ever went to sleep at 4:00am after over dosing myself with salbutamol sulfate coz I couldn't breath due to the mold, feather bedding, dog hair you name it. Rang owner who said I should have told her I have allergy and I wonder what she would have done with the mold and dog smell/hair in the property. As if that was not enough she was uneconomical with truth as she declined to not taking dogs when information in the cottage clearly states where to feed the dogs and you could see dog bowl indicating a dog had just recently been fed in the property. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THIS PLACE !!!!

“Cosy Country Cottage”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2018

Received a phone call as stated in the booking email a few days before from Maggie who was very friendly and happy to answer any questions as well as offer advice on places to visit. Although it is situated in a small village we found plenty to do in the local area and the visitors book provided us with a plethora of options for dining out and also activities we hadn't thought about. Needless to say we had a fantastic time and it was a nice touch to find milk, tea, coffee, sugar and a bottle of wine on our arrival. Definitely somewhere we would consider visiting again
