“Fantastic location and lodge” We chose the lodges because the location looked fantastic online and boy did reality match up! The village and surrounding area was breathtaking and the walks excellent. The lodge itself was wonderful, clean, tidy and well equipped. Although with the hotel restaurant down the road we didn't bother cooking all that much!! We were also able to take our dog which was great and I think she enjoyed herself as much as we did. The village has almost no traffic so it was lovely and quiet I am already trying to work out when we can go again. Fantastic place!!!

“Fantastic accomodation in a beautiful location” The owners were extremely helpful in organising our weekend break. Gruinyards far exceeded our expectations, everything from the bottle of wine down to the candles in the bathroom were a lovely touch. The location was amazing and the website does not do justice to the view over the loch.

“A relaxed escape to the country” If you have never been to Loch Ness and the surrounding areas, Alex & Janet's little hideaway is absolutely perfect as a base. No detail was overlooked: directions, Welcome pack of biscuits & chocolates which our kids loved, Separated packs of information with walks and local interests, even dog treats they understand hospitality to the letter. A home from home you only need to bring some food or pop to Tesco/Asda which was a reasonable 20miles ish at Inverness. The location was perfect we were within reach of Inverness, Fort agustus and the Fall of Foyers, which was our primary visit, and on a clear night which we were lucky to have one the night sky is something to see. If you are a family looking for walks we found that the forestry commission walks were best as they were marked out by difficulty and colour coded posts throughout the chosen walk (avoids embarrassing moments of getting lost). For us it was a break to escape the typical 'busy' life and a chance to reconnect with each other as a family with some board games (take some) and country air.

Tomich Woodland Lodges near Glen Affric and Loch Ness with wifi
A real find, one we will definitely revisit - faultless.

We travelled as a family, my wife and sons 17 and 21, with the main aim of climbing Ben Nevis and touring a little of Scotland. We booked the Carpenters Cottage which was really lovely, we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The cottage is spotlessly clean and really tastefully decorated. Its equiped with everything you could ever need; all sizes of pots and pans and cooking equipment, microwave, dishwasher, and a washer dryer - which was a must for us having spent a few nights camping to climb Scafell Pike on the way up - iron and ironing board too. Lots of little extras, supplied washing machine powder, washing up liquid and dishcloths etc.,, candles, books - nice little touches. We all made good use of the pool, and Ben and Tom used the pool table and wifi in the games room; there were lots of books in here too and board games, puzzles etc. Location wise, its a real stunning get away with lots of walking and cycling on the doorstep, really quiet and so dark at night - no light pollution here! If you really feel the need to explore a little further there is plenty within a short drive, Loch Ness, Inverness, Moray Firth etc., too much for us to do justice to in a week so we will definitley be back, and we will definitley stay at Tomich again. We could not fault it at all, everything was spot on and we were so pleased that we had booked 'a good one'. We booked for the sole purpose of climbing Ben Nevis, we knew it would be a bit of a drive from Tomich and it took us about an hour and 30 mins but we were so glad we were at Tomich, so much nicer than Fort William.
