“A lovely holiday home in a good location.” The Beeches is a large comfy house with plenty of room for 10, everything you could think of is provided. The house is located by the river and park and a very short walk to the shops, pubs and restaurants. I would recommend this property very highly.

“Cozy cottage in Manod” We stayed in Manod for 2 weeks and had a lovely time. The cottage is very cozy with a lovely back garden and scenic mountainsviews and green pastures with lots of sheeps. The cottage is situated close to Snowdonia Nationalpark and there are lots of hikingtrails just outside the cottage. The owner and caretaker are very nice and helpful. We can recomend the cottage for your next holiday if you want to experience the best of Wales.

Llety'r Bugail, Dolgellau

Dolgellau house

  • 3 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Llety'r Bugail, Dolgellau” Llety'r Bugail is a fantastic property set right on the uplands above Dolgellau, with fabulous views over Cadair Idris and the mountain ranges. It was beautifully clean, well equipped and, more than anything else, dry! The North Welsh weather let us down for the first time ever, but since this was about our 40th trip, it is hardly indicative of what one can normally expect. The area was beautifully quiet, with few but very friendly neighbours, and there was enough wildlife to keep the most ardent of naturalists quiet for a goodly while. As a result of little or no light pollution, particularly late at night, the night skies were absolutely outstanding, and the provision of patio furniture enhanced the experience. There are plenty of shops nearby to assuage the hunger of all but the greediest of tourists, and the cottage is a great centre for exploring all of Gwynedd and beyond. We had a superb week, and greatly enjoyed what was provided. As an added bonus, the blackberry bushes were in full fruit, so the resultant pies/crumbles were a joy to behold, and something that the supermarket didn't supply. (Mind you, they did provide the custard!) All round, an excellent place to get away from the lunatic world we all live in, and recharge the addled brain.

“Fantastic views, Really felt we were in the heart of Wales.” The service was fine, we could phone the owner for information or her eggs. We were never intruded upon, but felt she was there to help if need be, give local info about restaurants or beaches. We liked the home, it had a cottage feel with all mod cons including a washing machine in an outhouse. The only snag about the beds was that my daughter [45 yrs] slept on the spare bed in the double bedroom. She found it incredibly hard and woke up stiff and painful. She didn't want to share the double bed with me, found me disturbing [up in the night.] We had to go a few miles into Betswy Coed for food, but the Spar there had everything we wanted and stayed open late every day so shopping was not a problem. The distance to all the different mountains took quite a while to get to, the situation was good, but perhaps not quite as central as we would have liked. Not a big deal really, but we only had a week and we wanted to do so much, a lot of our time was travelling. I liked the views over such a vast skyline of hills and the lovely wild flowers, streams and walks straight from the house. We didn't like sky television, couldn't see the programmes we wanted, they couldn't be found. The boys liked the peace of the place - they had come from the busy city of Shanghai, but being boys, they wanted to play football and found the garden a bit too small for that. I don't think they were too impressed with the games room, but as we were out most of time, these issues were minor. I know they enjoyed their holiday immensely, they had wanted to go to Wales for a long time and they reffered to the fields, the sheep, the beaches and their different hikes many times when they got back to my home. They wrote and thanked me warmly when they went back to Shanghai.

“Quiet escape in beautiful snowdonia” Delightful cottage, well equipped. The owners were available to give advice on where to go when needed. Location in Betwsy is perfect as you feel tucked away next to the river and down a private road but is a minutes walk to shops restuarants etc. Some delightful low level walks you can do from the cottage include the miners bridge, and fairy glen. Easy access to Snowdon for the more venturesome. Cant wait to go back.

“The "Savoy" of Cottages” Nant Cottage was our 5th cottage from Sykes and we just don't know how they can better it. Everything from the welcome scones and supplies to the waterfall virtually in your back garden makes this cottage and location special. I'm hesitant in saying to much as I will want to go back to Nant Cottage in the future and want to make certain that there will be a few free weeks left for me.

“Peaceful and stunning scenery” The property was in a beautiful location on a delightful farm deep in the Welsh countryside. The farm owner was very friendly and welcoming and the cottage was very beautiful and clean and well kitted out. The only real complaint I would have is that I felt it was very cold due to the time of year, and even with the fire on the the living room I often felt cold. But this is probably due to living in a very warm house anyway and this did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the property. I would definitely stay here again, during the warmer months of the year.

“Better than Expected” I rely on trip advisor reviews when traveling do happy to review. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this cottage for our family of five. It was better than I'd hoped- clean, great location, well- equipped kitchen. Cottage is walking distance from several hiking trails and also in the center of town. There is information on nearby attractions available and also has wifi. The only negative is the bedding had a bottom sheet and a blanket, no top sheet, but it worked fine. It is a bit tucked away, but directions given were good; just follow carefully. We plan to return to Wales and would stay there again!

“Value for money in the Welsh countryside” Friendly greeting from Farmer's wife next door. Property was ideal for large family group (3 generations from teenage to 60s). Lots of bathrooms and different areas. Very popular was the hot tub and games room. Farmer drove us up the local Mountain and we walked back down. It may be too remote for some but was ideal for us

“We all had a superb stay, enjoying everything the owners offered” We were very well lokked after from the moment we arrived until we left. The cottage was lovely, ideal for 2 people. Maintained to a very good standard with everything that we needed. The hosts gave us such a lovely welcome pack and superb service. We loved the most informative Welcome Pack with very accurate walk details.
