“Escape from reality” My husband and I both have high-pressure jobs. We were looking for an escape from the grind. We found it at Water's Edge. As we entered the gate of this quaint island paradise reality melted away. The main living area is open and comfortable. The bedrooms are spacious. But I can't say that we spent much time in the house... The view from the back patio is breathtaking. The doors open to a beautiful outdoor living space which overlooks the Caribbean. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner outside! The days were lazy, filled with much needed R&R.; We read books, napped in the hammock, and simply enjoyed the sun and the seascape. The home has direct access to the water, and the pool is perfect for that quick dip to cool off. Although we were looking for a quiet getaway, nightlife was not far away. We found it easy to get over to Paradise Island for some dinner and gambling at atlantis. We enjoyed our trip so much we returned with our daughter the following year. She enjoyed it as much as we did. We've got a new baby at home, but are looking forward to getting back to Water's Edge soon.

“Always the best!” We are returning guests forthe last 9 years...do I have to say more?

“A week of tropical relaxation!” Ivan, We have been home nearly 2 weeks now but find ourselves still thinking and talking about what a wonderful time we had. We found the condo exceptional. The attention to detail in the condo was impressive. That along with the beautiful view from the condo and the great location of the condo on the property made it truly seem like the perfect accommodation. A short 4 minute walk to the beach or another short 5-6 minute walk to the Mariner Restaurant and two larger pools. We cannot say enough about the staff of the Fishing Lodge. It seemed they went out of their way to anticipate our every need. Delicious food, entertainment, cleanliness, hospitality and excellent service along with the beauty of the condo and resort provided us with a very memorable vacation. We hope to visit again. “Wow!!” Dave, the Villa bus driver, picked us up at a local hotel where we had spent the previous night. The trip from Montego Bay to Mais Oui took a little over an hour but we did have one stop at a grocery for snacks and drinks. Dave was available the entire week and his advice on day trips and what to see was really appreciated. Upon arrival at the Villa we were greeted by Miss Ruby and the entire staff that presented us with cool towels and rum punch. We got a quick tour of the property while our luggage was unloaded and placed in the appropriate rooms. We were a group of 11 adults--all family and close friends. The Villa was spotless and all the items that we had requested in advance were on site for our arrival. This included the first two days' food and drinks. Arrangements for the food and drinks had been made with a local grocery where the Villa can charge and get delivery. The items were a bit pricy but for the convenience of having everything on site at arrival it is worth a little extra. On Tuesday Chef Arthur and I shopped at a large grocery store in Ocho Rios and purchased food for the remainder of our stay. Prices at this store were excellent as was the selection of food available. Our week at Mais Oui was exceptional. The staff was superb. Miss Ruby, the manager, was always available if we had questions or needs. Audrey and Janice kept the Villa in immaculate condition with fresh linens and towels daily in each room as well as fresh towels for the pool and beach as needed. Max kept the pool and grounds spotless and made sure the hot tub was ready as requested. Paul was always on hand also to serve our meals and get anything our group needed. A security guard was on site from dusk to dawn. Everyone in the group enjoyed "spa" day on Wednesday when massages were provided for our entire group. These were done by therapists whom the Villa arranged to have on site that day at an additional charge. The pool area is wonderful as it provides areas of shade, partial sun and full sun depending on how you locate your loungers. The pool is not heated but very refreshing when cooling off from the warm sun. We were a little saddened that the tennis court was in need of some repair but we were still able to use the court just not play competitively. The food at the Villa has to be considered a high point. Chef Arthur is a wonderful cook and prepared some of the finest meals we have enjoyed. He took the menu we had arranged and prepared almost everything we had requested. He asked permission to vary some dishes to give us a little more flavor of Jamaica and everyone agreed his selections were first rate. He is preparing a cook book with all his recipes and we look forward to getting a copy!! Overall, we felt like we were treated like members of the Mais Oui family. There were plenty of tears when on our last morning we were serenaded by the entire staff. Totally unexpected was a call from the Villa owner to see how our vacation was progressing and if all our needs were being met.

“Calypso condo stay was paradise!!!” We recently returned from a weeks vacation to St. Croix where we stayed at Calypso Condo C-2 in the gated community of Gentle Winds and had a fabulous time!!! The condo was immaculate upon arrival and Angela, the unit manager, stocked us with some groceries I requested so we didn't have to go out at night when we first arrived. There were six of us and with the three bedrooms, three bathrooms, three balconies and the loft area we did not feel crowded. Barbara, the owner, thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable and a home away from home. The book Life in the Left Lane, the bottle of champagne in the fridge, the starfish necklaces and the gift certificate to the Snack shack were complimentary gifts to us for staying there. It was a vey nice finishing touch by Barbara and very much appreciated. The kitchen was very well-equipped. There were so many books, Wii games, VHS movies, DVDs, and board games for all ages to choose from. It was nice having a grill to cookout on since we don't always like to eat out and as we found out food in St. Croix is expensive. I would definitely come back to St. Croix and stay at Calypso Condo again in a heartbeat !!!! The view was breathtaking, the beach gorgeous and the pool refreshing. The grounds at Gentle Winds were beautifully kept and the people there including the guard, the groundskeepers, and the woman who ran the Snack Shack were very polite. Staying there in early June had its benefits. I truly felt we had the whole place to ourselves. Besides us there were maybe 6 units out of 65 that were occupied at the time. No fighting for chaise lounges at the beach or pool.. A nice perk of the off season. Before leaving for St. Croix Barbara made sure we had directions from the airport to the condo and how to access the lockbox should the unit be locked. She also stressed checking out her website which had extremely helpful tips and suggestions one should know before arriving. I was also impressed that early on in our stay Barbara called and sent me an email checking in with us to see that everything was going well. We did so many fun activities while in St. Croix- stand up paddle boarding , snorkeling, kayaking, relaxing on the beach, shopping in Christiansted, touring the Cruzan Rum Factory, watching the sunset at Off the Wall restaurant while playing bingo and watching the sunrise at Point Udall. Needless to say we were all very sad to leave but have so many fond memories and beautiful pictures.

“Fantastic get-away outside of Negril proper” The Retreat Plantation House is a picturesque villa in "Retreat", Westmoreland Parish, situated on a hillside overlooking acres of sugar cane fields on what is a still operational plantation. Although at times the tranquil surroundings may transport you to another century, the villa is newly refurbished and replete with the necessities of modern living. The three bedrooms easily accommodate 7, and our large group of 9 was quite comfortable throughout our stay. If you are looking for a respite from the gauche touristy atmosphere of the all-inclusive resorts on 7 mile, then Retreat is ready to oblige with a more relaxed, authentic, local Jamaican feel. If your vacation contemplates forays into town and the beach, then Retreat is also well suited (it's a 15-20 min. cab ride to the action, at about $2 USD per person, day rate. Renting a car is also feasible).

“We had a blast!! Great place to stay.” My friends and I stayed here for our first visit to Punta Cana. We had an absolute blast. Alfonso was very accmodating and he was extremely helpful to any and everything that we needed. Angela was great. She made us feel comfortable our entire stay. I would recommend this place to anyone. The rooms were nice and the pool is amazing. We will definitely me revisiting this place.

“Spectacular views of sea with brilliant staff” Stayed at Maranatha villa this year and left completely impressed with the staff, location and villa.. They really offered us sincere hospitality and ensured that we were well taken care of. We had some delicious meals that we enjoyed at times on the gazebo by the seaside which has some spectacular views. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was excellent on hot days. The adventurous ones in our group jumped off into the ocean for snorkeling and swimming in the reef. An excellent time was had by all. We will definitely be back.
